I am wondering if any of you use cycle beads? How helpful are they etc. I really don't want to pay for something if it does not work. Please let me know your experiences good or bad. When researching a topic I am open to both. Thank you

I am using these. They are great , but only if your cycle is longer then 26 days but shorter then 32. mine is a very regular 28 days so no problem there. The beads are designed so that you can figure out if your cycle fits within this time frame. A friend of mine is a public health nurse and she often recommends the beads for women who want a natural form of birth control. They are 95% effective if used correctly.. Hope this helped,

michelle

I really like the idea of cycle beads, but they absolutely wouldn't work for me because my cycle is pretty variable. Charting works best for my situation.

I agree that they would be helpful if you have more of a regular cycle to begin with. My mom's a midwife and she gives them out to her clients to use. I think I would first try all the charting, temps, etc, for a while and then use the beads when I felt like I had a better idea of what was going on with my body.

It's a lot more effective to just chart your body signs. I would never trust some beads to tell me when I'm fertile or not, especially since I have such a long cycle of fertile cm, even though I used to have a normal 30day cycle (I say used to b/c I haven't had a cycle is a long time :lol ). We used the Creighton Method before just going w/ the flow. It's not unusual to have a long cycle during stressful times and that would easily lead to an unplanned pgcy using the beads. It's not unheard of for women have unusually short cycles too, again there's an unplanned pgcy that could've been avoided by watching your cycle.
