OMG, I can't even think about this yet...we JUST finished our Christmas shopping today and I'm not even sure that I'm done. Do we know how many we are supposed to get? 'Cause I forgot if we did.

The final count was 19 beads. Don't worry ladies, you have until the end of February, but I figured there had to be someone out there who was more on the ball than I am and had already finished. Happy bead hunting!!!

Actually, I was wondering what format you wanted the blessings in... my MIL has a program which prints things out onto address labels; would it be appropriate to do the blessings that way? :innocent Or do you just want papers or something?

I've had the beads since before Christmas... but I may need direction on how to format my "blessing"

You have a couple of options. If you are sending the same blessing to everyone then just send one copy to me and I will include it for everyone. If you want different blessings for people, just print them all on one sheet with the person's name and I will make sure they get to the right person. I plan to retype all the blessings with some pretty graphics so we can use them as birth affirmations too. Of course if you send me something that is already "decorated" I will send the original. Either way is fine with me. PM me when you are ready to send and I will get you my paypal and mailing addy.

Just came back from the bead shop with the prettiest vintage beads for our swap - but I'm afraid that the holes may be too small! :crying
And, of course, I didn't even think about it until I already bought them and was on my way back....

Can anyone remember what the thread diameter will be - I think the holes of these beads may just be 1 mm.

The thread is sold as 1mm, but most of what I have seen is actually closer to 1.4 mm. It is a 1mm waxed cotton cording, maybe you could find it at your bead store and try it out with your beads. I would think the holes in the beads would need to be closer to 2 mm, to fit correctly. I hope it works with beads you found. I haven't ordered the cording yet so if people are having a hard time finding beads that will fit we could look at other options. I chose the waxed cording because it was strong and water restitant and looked "earthy" and was inexpensive. If anyone has other suggestions let me know.

Well I went back down to the bead shop to see if she had some 1 mm cord that I could try the beads on.... Unfortunately, though, the owner was mixed up about what sizes she actually had in stock (they weren't marked). The beads did fit well on one size but I think it may have been .5 mm.....
Anyway - the owner is going to clarify what sizes she actually has over the weekend and I'll stop back next week. If the beads don't fit on 1 mm - she's going to let me exchange them (even though store policy is no exchanges).

I do think the waxed cording will be good - I just completely forgot about the size. :irked:
I'm happy I stopped back today, at least if the first beads I picked don't work - I can exchange them!
