This has been a issue between my mother and me..she wants me to go back to work,but my full time job is raising my children right now. Yes they are old enough to take care of themselves,but they are also at an age when I feel they need me more.
So when she says something I remind her that for now my place is at home and yes we can use the money but,it will all work out.

I've always replied "Do you like work that much? I never did!" Most people only work because they "have to", if your family isn't going hungry or asking your mother to live with her, its none of her business. I also try to make it clear that I'm the one living with the consequences of my actions, whether those are due to working or not. If your dh is happy, and you are happy, no one else should get a big vote.

Well my mom and I have a close relationship and I can tell her how I feel (even if we didn't I would tell her how I felt). I would bluntly tell her that it was absolutely none of her business.
