Anyone else having issues with sweets and treats so far this holiday season? I have been surrounded by treats for what seems weeks now - at work, at home and at friends/family, and I feel like I have no self control left! It seems simply impossible for me to pass by something without sampling a piece (or two). :o
I'm trying not to feel too guilty - since 'tis the season, but I wish I had some ounce of control left in me.... :shrug

Thank goodness you're not around me because last night I made fudge, Puppy Chow (Chex cereal with peanut butter, chocolate, and powdered sugar), chocolate chip cookies, otmeal cookies, and sugar cookies. I know I am so going to add some weight before New Year's! I say since its the holidays its not too bad to loss a little control. Its great to have those once a year treats. I'm going to gain weight anyway, but I don't think a week or two of nibbling on treats is going to make me huge lol.

A couple pieces isn't too bad. As long as you aren't bingeing and cleaning the plate of all the rum balls! :lol
I have a piece or two of our Christmas candy (sent by my grandmother) every day or so. :)
Off I go to make cookies and candy! :lol

OHHHHH, yeah.
I'm giving in here and there, and figuring I'll cut way back on sugar after the holidays. I did no refined sugars in the 3rd tri last time, I think it really helped me feel good until the end.

I'm just enjoying and figuring that this is a fabulous time of year to be pregnant :yum
I had totally lost my sweet tooth for a while but it seems to be returning just in time... :lol

Yummmm those reeses peanut butter trees are great! I go for my appointment tomorrow and know I am going to have a huge weight gain this month :lol Once Christmas is over though I need to focus on kicking alot of the sugar out of my diet. It really does make the baby bounce all over in there. I feel guilty afterwards but the temptation is everywhere.

Luckily, I haven't had too many sweet around me... yet! My parents arrive tomorrow and I know my mom will come bearing treats.
The only thing that saves me from overindulging is that fact that my #1 heartburn trigger is sugar. I KNOW I will pay later if I eat too much, so it helps keep me in check. I suppose that's one bright side of pg heartburn. :rolleyes

I already had a huge weight gain LAST month (not that I really let that get me down) and so it's been making it REALLY hard to ignore the sweets being pushed at me at this time of year.
I eat more cookies, cakes, etc. than I should, but I've told myself that since most of them will disappear by January 1st, it's going to be my New Year's Resolution to cut back on sweets for the rest of the pregnancy.
Of course, I first need to get rid of the batches of Christmas cookies I've made in the past two weeks.
:blush I wish I could blame my sweet tooth this time around on holiday time. If only holiday time started in September, because that was around when I started craving sweet stuff all the time.
Ack!
I made pumpkin chocolate chip muffins this past weekend...dh says they are "healthy" because of the pumpkin and because I replaced the butter with a combo of canola oil and applesauce. (If only they didn't have all that sugar, maybe he'd be right. :p )
I totally disgust myself! :wink MY workplace is filled w/ temptation. Sugar tastes better than anything I eat! I have to control it though!

I'm feeling really bad about the amount of chocolate I've had today.
Tomorrow my only sugar will be a bran muffin, really!

MMM... junk food. I still have only gained a couple pounds, so I'm not too worried. But I did lose my crown on a candy cane at the movie theater the other day. Mommy always told me candy would rot my teeth out. I pulled it off the candy cane, took it to the bathroom and stuck it back on. We're out of town, but so far, so good.

Yep, you are definately not alone. We have had a lot of sweets around, too. The other day, I made some butter crunch toffee. Then yesterday, we made gingerbread cookies for St. Nick. I am making some pies tomorrow.
I think it is okay to let go a little. I am trying not to overindulge, though, because I have a really bad yeast infection. I know that curbing intake of refined sugar helps prevent them in the future. So, I am trying.
