I have discovered that controlling nausea works if I eat something hourly. The nausea is much worse on an empty stomach, and of course, then I don't want to eat.

If anyone in the same boat would like to make a list of easy foods on the stomach~I'd enjoy getting idea's. I don't feel too creative with food right now. Plus, it seems after a few days, specific foods stop working and become repulsive! I had morning sickness from 6-12 weeks with ds, just like this, so if I can just get through this trimester I will be okay. I haven't actually thrown up yet, as I really am working on controlling the feeling of nausea before it gets bad.

So far these are working for me:

Yo Baby 6 packs of yogurt~it's very mild light yogurt, and also available in Soy.

Instant mashed potatos, very appealing for their sheer blandness.

Natural cheese spread on crackers.

Peanut butter on toast.

Ripe avacado slices on cracker. Sometimes I just eat half an avacado, it seems easy on the stomach.

Cheese quesadillas worked for a few days but now I can't look at them.

Apple chips

Kefir was working but also became unappealing

Bagel toasted with cream cheese or other topping

I find if I make a plate and keep it by my bed and eat something everytime I get up at night, it keeps me feeling good.

More idea's?

Not the healthiest snack, by far, but a slice of bread and butter has always worked for me. It's purely mental, though. My grandmother, who just passed away last month, used to make me bread and butter every night when I was little and stayed w/ her during the summers. It brings a little smile to my face every time I have a slice, and I think about her looking down and watching over me and this little baby.

Also not very healthy, but bologna sandwiches w/ honey bacon French dressing (I do this one right before bed.) and cheapo boxed mac & cheese w/ extra Velveeta. (Unfortunately, our journey towards more natural living has not reached our eating habits, as you can clearly see... :rotflmao )

Things that worked for me last time.

Scrambled eggs. Quick and lots of protein to keep you feeling full.

Plain egg noodles or with butter and salt and pepper.

apple slices. This was key for keeping my mouth feeling clean. there was about 2 weeks where this was virtually all i ate. They were especially good After throwing up because toothpaste was repellent. It had to be slice though a whole apple was just gross :nut

I hope you can make it. I was sick last time it just stinks when you feel nauseaus all day long.

Green bananas

Milk

I've been craving crusty french bread with butter. :yum

Potatolover-I forgot that last pg I ate tons of apples....I'll have to get some and try them this time.

Ruby red grapefruit are my favorite food right now.

And Kashi crackers, cranberry juice, ginger tea, vanilla yogurt, and not much else tastes good.

My favorite snack right now is Clif Bars. They taste like cookies and are packed with protein. I wake up in the middle of the night and eat 1/2 a bar. They are 70% organic, too. :thumb

Luna Bars are really great, too. I also like the Cliff Z Bars, but I can only find those at Whole Foods.

A good easy thing to make is baked beans on toast! Sounds weird, but I got the idea from this vegan message board I was visiting. Apparently it is a British thing. It is very tasty. The bread soaks up the sauce. I use the canned Heinz Vegetarian Beans. :thumb

Luna Bars are made by Nestle :crying

Right now the nausea has gone away, but if I don't keep food in my system I get really weak, dizzy and no fun to be around.
I've found I feel best if I start with something light first, like grapes or an orange, some kind of fruit. After that I've really been craving those Market Fresh Arby's chicken salad sandwiches Yummy!

Actually nothing at all is sounding good to me. That is until I read the chicken salad sanwich. Now I'm going to go make a curry chicken salad with crisp grapes. Oh that sounds soooooo good! Thanks mama!

Cliff isn't on my list, but I know I read on MDC that Luna was bought by Nastle...
Let me double check that real quick!

Mexican food sounds heavenly to me, as it always does! But I'm going to resist the urge for the heavy cheese greasy stuff and just go for some yummy sliced avocado instead.

OK, I must retract my previous statement and apologize, I heard wrong. Luna and Cliff are NOT owned by Nestle.

These are great idea's. The funny (and frustrating) thing is that if I eat something for a couple of days, I become repulsed by it :irked:

I just keep switching around and so far, no vomiting, so that is great. The last two days the nausea was lighter. I felt better.

Now it's smells. I cannot stand certain smells and love others.

I carry around a box of peppermint tea and smell it and it's heavenly.

Oh, and PEPPERMINT GUM. It is a great clean feeling that is very grounding too.

Me too! I have super healthy food when not pg, but now I feel like I am stuck in a 24 hour hangover & the only thing that helps me is greasy food, preferably made by someone else so I don`t have to smell it for hours!
