I had a nice long detailed post about our almost doula, and then the computer had a brain fart or something and erased it before it posted. So I'll recap quickly because I'm exhausted and ready to fall into bed.

I had a 1st meeting w/ our prospective doula today. I'm fairly certainly we'll go w/ her, but she doesn't sign a contract or anything until she's met w/ both parents, so we'll have to set up a weekend metting for dh. She's really great. We hit it off right from the beginning. We addressed several of the issues I had w/ dd's birth, and I feel confident she will do everything she can to make sure those things don't happen w/ this one. She's even willing to "attend" if we go UC!

I'm really needed some good news today, since dh told his parents earlier today that we're expecting. They were characteristally unsupportive and made lots of left-handed compliments, etc. It also makes me really happy to see our club growing. I've never been supported by so many like-minded women at one time. It's very uplifting. Yay us!

Great news!! I need to start searching for a doula as well.

GRR about the in-laws. Why can't people just be happy for you?

How are you feeling? Exhaustion has kicked in for me as well as middle-of-the-night sickness. So far I'm alright during the day, though.

Congrats on finding your doula! That's great that she's willing to attend if you decide on UC!

I think that is neat that you found a doula. I live in rural nebraska and there is not anyone like a doula around here. You will have to let me all about it.

About the in-laws, well been there and done that. All I can say is that I am sorry that they are acting like this. Just keep your head high and don't let them know that they are getting to you. Just keep smiling!! :D Hugs

Thanks for the in-law encouragement, ladies. It's so much easier now that we've got 10 hrs of driving between us and them, but it's still frustrating to hear all the asinine stuff they say.

Meanwhile, back in BFE...today was exhausting. I had to drive almost 4 hrs round trip w/ dd and my mom in tow to get fitted for a bride's maid's gown. My middle brother is getting married in March, and I'm really hoping my appetite doesn't do a 180 between now and then. A little boost would be nice, but I definitely don't need to start pigging out or anything. The lady at the store said they'd try to get the dress to me ASAP, so I can try it on periodically and make sure it still fits. (Gee, thanks.) I told her if I gain enough weight in the next 8 wks to need the next size up, I've got more problems then just the dress not fitting!

I know this is totally off topic, but does anyone else have trouble w/ grandparents and NO discipline? I was so embarassed. I came out of the dressing room to find dd standing on the bride's platform in front of the mirror, totally in front of a bride w/ this drop dead, get this kid out of my way expression on her face, and my mom just standing there telling everybody how cute dd was. I mean, she wasn't being loud or making a scene or anything, but my mom could have encouraged her to play elsewhere.

Anyway...that's been my day. I'm so ready for bed... :zzz
