This forum's been pretty dead lately with the exception of a few key players. :wink Where's everyone else? I know we're all busy with our new babies, but it's been kinda quiet around here. I hope we don't all just fade away. :(

i was wondering the same thing. although i only get a chance to check in once or twice during the day now that E is here.
today we had to go to the eyeglass place b/c they screwed up my rx and then went food shopping. not the most exciting but E was out for about 5 hours, so had to cut it short there.
there are so many things about a newborn that i just dont remember!!!

I'm still here. I should post more, but I'm not as good at NAK and typing like some of us are.
My baby is now 2 weeks old and demanding quite a lot of attention, along with my 2 yr old and my 14 yr old (she is just as attention demanding as the 2 yr old, hehe).
I hope we don't fade away. I get a lot of encouragement and ideas for solutions to my parenting problems from this forum. :)

I'm having a really hard time typing, but I check in frequently. DH goes back to work next week and I won't be sleeping in, so
I'll try nd be around more often then.

Typing is really hard with a baby in my arms and I haven't found a good way to NAK. But I still check once a day usually (sometimes more often). I'll be really sad when this forum gets closed! Does anyone know how long that will be?

I am still checking in every day and mostly reading. And off exploring other parts of mdc. Trying to type as little as possible because it is usually 1 handed!

Heh. Been up to my eyeballs with Carys. Just dealing with feedings and all the getting up in the night has nearly done me in. But we're slowly adjusting. On a good night she lets us sleep 3 hours straight and we're not such total basket cases the next day.

I read faithfully every day but my little munchkin is over 13 lbs. now so it often takes both hands to hold him so I don't usually get to type much.
Have you guys started a Life with a Babe thread yet?

I am here too, just been real busy the last few days-sick kids to pick up at school, WIC (Sam gained 1 lb in 10days! now at 10 lb 9 oz), API meeting, and DH's company appreciation dinner (DH and Sam are now the talk of the company for his birth!), snf the usual laundry dishes and all. And all of this activity on so little sleep. Sam tends to sleep much of the day and cluster feed from 11 or so until about 3am. Then I am up at 7 to get my oldest off to school. I don't think I have slept more than 2 hours at a stretch since Sam was born.

nak here, too. it's the only time i don't feel guilty about being on the computer and not sleeping or doing something else around the house. i'm actually starting to feel more proficient at typing 1 handed (although the right is easier than the left :lol )

I am in the midst of trying to type my birth story up -- it's now been 5 weeks! I wrote it out in longhand two days after the birth when my computer crashed... now that I have a computer again, I'm one handed typing when I can. it's been easier for me to work on it in small maneagable chunks -- now I'm at the pushing stage yay!! :bouncy

Winter is 6 weeks old today (Monday). Why do I totally feel like boohooing over this particular milestone? He's growing up so fast.
So I'm curious how everyone else's babies weight gain has been going, because Winter is growing like out of this world.
At birth he was 10 lbs 2 oz.
At 2 days he was 9 lbs 8 oz.
At 1 week he was 10 lbs 2 oz.
At 2 weeks and 3 days he was 10 lbs 12.5 oz.
At 5 weeks he was 12 lbs 10 oz.
Anyone else care to share?

I am still here! I haven't been on much since the babies were born, but now that I have got this tandem nursing thing down it is easier to jump online. We are all doing great-I feel way better than I did at this time after the birth of my son. The babies are nursing very well, they are content, etc. I am still a bit sleep deprived though. :nut

I seem to be going in spurts, checking on here. Some days I'll get some great quality time on mdc, then other times it will be DAYS before I can seem to get on!!
Plus, I feel like all I'm doing is posting about how bfing isn't going well for us yet... and that feels like a downer (especially since so many of you are doing so great!! the only time I can get on here is when NOT nursing because I can't even get things to work with TWO hands, let alone just one!). And, since this is the DDC and not the bfing board, I figure I can't always post my problems here. But darnit if I don't feel so much more comfortable with you ladies than the unknown. At least for now (feeling pretty vulnerable with things not going smoothly yet and all).
So... I'm still here... at least every few days ;)

Just had Moira weighed today (19 days old) and she was 8-2, up from 7-0 at birth and 7-6 at 1wk... not a super chunk like some of yours, but gaining nicely :)

Judybean I really feel for ya...
I too am having *major* bfing challenges with Sami (see my post in the Low Milk Supply Tribe thread). When the bfing isn't going well it's hard to concentrate on much else, I know! I am almost embarrassed to post his weight -- the Jewish mother in me is screaming that he's not fat enough but my LC swears he's gaining OK, and the ped isn' t worried.
Birth: 7 lbs 7 oz
Day 5: 6 lbs 8 oz
1 month: 8 lbs
Today (5 weeks, 2 days): 8 lbs, 9 oz

Me too. Weekends are usually busy for us cause I dont do anything by myself during the week yet (as far as running lots of errands with 2 kids) HAHA So I make dh go with me to grocery shop and all that and we cram it into the weekends. I've also had to go to a shower every weekend for the past 2 weeks (bridal and baby) and am throwing a baby shower this Saturday so 3 in a row. Sheesh! LOL I'm kinda a house hermit and am pretty much sick to death of people at this point. HAHAHAHAHAHA
Re: weight.....I dont know forsure (I do the weigh myself and then weigh her and minus it off thing) and she is inbetween 10-11 pounds (at 4 weeks.) She was 7.12 at birth. I see she is heading in the same direction as Jevin.....chunka wunka. HAHA
