Can someone tell me who I need to contact to get my ex's tax check withheld. He is behind over $5000 in child support? I didn't know if I needed to contact the CS place or a lawyer or if the tax people would fill out a form to get it done. My sister got a letter saying if her ex was over $500 she would get his check, but they haven't sent me nothing like that and he is way over 500. Take for any info!!

If you could tell me what state your in, or what state your ex lives in- I could probablly find something that pertains to your specific juristiction. I know in my state you have to fill out a document requesting that his tax return be deffered due to non payment of support, but I'm not too sure if that only works in my state.

The SC Child Support Enforcement Division would handle that so contact you CS worker through them and ask. They can intercept both federal and state income taxes if he is more than $500 or $300 in arrears, respectively. Their website is here (http://www.state.sc.us/dss/csed/enforce.htm)
