Hi, I am due for my vbac in June, 18 months after my c/s. I labored for 60 hours and never went past 1 cm. (my water broke at the very start). My midwife is sending me to an herbalist at the end for some herbs she says will help make the head a better fit into the pelvis and also some to help the cervix. Anyone have any info on these? One started with a P but I cannot remember it. I also was thinking of doing accupuncture but I am not sure what they can do with that. Basically we are wanting to try anything that will increase our odds of a natural birth. Thanks for any info.

i've heard good things about acupuncture and positioning, so if your mw recommends one, I'd do it. I don't think anyone actually knows how acupuncture works, but it seems to. i've had a good experience with a chiropractor too, and you can start seeing one early in pregnancy for your own comfort and to help with getting your pelvis aligned correctly. I don't have any info about herbs, though. good luck!!!

I was almost 2 weeks postdate with my DD and I expressed concerns to my MW about "what happens if I go post date with thsi pg?" and she said I could take a 5 week herbal supplement to help tone my uterus and prepare my body for birth. It's taken from 35 weeks on and she said it usually (in her experience) results in labor starting spntaneously around 40 weeks. The brand she recommended was Nature's Sunshine (http://www.greatestherbsonearth.com/nsp/5-w.htm) . I'm not sure if this particular blend is something that would help you in your situation, but I thought I would mention it and you can ask your herbalist.

Best wishes! :)
