I have terrible sciatica on one side - there is almost always sharp, shooting pain from my right buttock down my right leg, even when I am laying still.

The only things I can do for relief are to get on all fours (which is not always practical, or comfortable for long periods) or to sit on a hard chair.

So, I've been spending a lot of time online, sitting at the computer on a hard dining room chair. I have noticed that my baby is still very high up, squished up under my ribs and is making it very hard for me to breathe.

I figured he'd have dropped by now, especially considering the space has been occupied twice before, and the last resident weighed 10 pounds. :)

I'm worried that because I spend so much time sitting, he may be malpositioned when I do go into labour, or he won't engage properly and we'll be at risk of cord prolapse.

I try to get out for a walk each day, but even just doing stuff around the house is incredibly painful.

Does anyone have any ideas or thoughts?

TIA. :heartbeat

Yes, you absolutely need to see a chiropractor! It makes a huge difference.

:( This is my fourth pregnancy and I have suffered from sciatica with everyone except this one!!!And the only reason I don't suffer now is because I see my chiropractor religiously once a week; sometimes even twice if I feel even the slightest pinch starting in my back or hips. It's a pain no pregnant or otherwise woman should ever have to suffer through!! And it's worth the money to get the treatments! My chiro does a combination of pressure massage where my sciatic joint? nerve? runs through my butt and hips. It really works but took me a while to find a chiropractor that did this type of deep muscle work.
When you are sitting make sure your legs are not dangling down; try to even have them on a small stool or a few books piled up so they are very horizontal. This helps.
And I don't think you should worry about the position of your baby, they know where to go when the time is right!
Try to stay off your feet, if you have to make a meal then bring everything to the table and sit and do your thing, play with your kids in bed or on the floor, don't do any twisting...that's the worst. Sex is bad too :( . Go for a massage if you can't find a chiro.. this will probably help.

Goodluck!! Love and Light. Angela

ITA about the chiro. I think he saved my sanity when I was pregnant. I also used homeopathic Hypericum. That helped me too.
