ds just had a poop that was normal color, normal amount, but full of mucous. is this cause for concern? nothing like having a health question on a saturday night... monday morning seems awfully far away!!

hey jeanne, i would post this on bfeeding forum too, but is your baby fussy? i know with ds2, he had lots of mucousy stool and was colicky. turns out he was dairy sensitive and once i cut it out of my diet, no problems on either front. ds3 has had some mucousy stool too though and is not much of a fusser at all. (so take that for what it's worth. not very helpful am i? :)

For what it's worth, I did ask my ped about this last visit and he said no worries at all and that it was normal.

I have a wonderful lactation consultant that I just asked about this, too, because this week, there was a little blood in the mucous. She said the blood possibly indicated a sensitivity to dairy. I quit eating dairy after the birth, but I forgot that cream was an ingredient to a dish I had two days in a row! :(

now it's gone.

clear mucous seems like nothing to worry about, but if someone know what it actually is...
