Average hours of sleep at night?

How long does your babe sleep at night? On average? Tori sleeps, on average 9-11 hours at night. Not that I'm complaining, but isn't that a lot for a 7 week old? Who else is having long stretches of sleep?

Holy cow, you must be one rested mama! I think at most the babies go about 4 hours at night without waking, but that is on the long end of the scale.

are you talking about total or how much btwn feedings? total is roughly 12-14hrs. usually falls asleep at around 9 and wakes up for "good" at 10am. but she's up roughly every 3-4 hours in btwn those times.

Luka usually sleeps from about 1am-11am with 2 feedings in between- 1 at 4-5 and another around 8-9.
I think two 4-hour stretches is awesome! My oldest never slept 4 hours at a time. I feel pretty rested these days.

E usually nurses around 12 midnight for the last feeding. then, he will wake around 4 (which means he slept for about 3 1/2 hours); then around 6:30 (another 2 hours). of course, he will then sleep for a couple hours after that but i usually have to wake up at 7 to get ds2 off to school. :(
but, in general, i find his sleeping schedule good for this age (for my boys).

Teagan falls asleep anywhere from 11pm and 1am, will usually wake once at some point to nurse, though she really doesn't even wake up, she just starts harumphing and rooting around until she gets a nipple in her mouth. Then she will sleep solidly until between 8am and 9am, and she will start harumphing and rooting again, then she will usually go back to sleep until around 10:30am.

How long is the longest she goes before wanting to nurse? Well last night she went 7 hours!! But that is not normal. Usually she will go 4 to 5 hours between nursing periods at night.

i sometimes get two 3 hour stretches nursing in between. some nights it's two hours here and there and elliot might decide he wants to be up and play from, oh, 3 am to 6 am (that was two nights ago) or he'll be up fussing from 3 until 7 (that was last night). i'm not feeling very well rested today... but then again i don't have any other kids...

"harumphing and rooting" :lol What a great way to describe it! That's exactly what Will does, not just the h&r'ing, but also the schedule. :p

ha ha Jewely slept through pretty early on and my milk production was amazing.... to the point that i would wake up my getting my own milk splashing down in my face. i am not kidding. it would spray up in the air and come down and hit me. or if i was laying on my side it would it dh who would wake me up so i would stop spraying him :lol but...if the cover was over me i woke up in a puddle under me and a huge cold wet spot covering me. :irked:

this time around i just leak. i am thinking about doing something to up the production a little. Feeny gets a little unhappy in the evening when things get sort of empty. she by the way to answer the question sleeps from about 10:30- 2:30 then diaper changed and pop on the boob. she sleeps until8 am but i usually have to pop the boob in her mouth three ties in that second period. ackk i just looked at the time i am going to be tired toorrow.

m gives me about 9-10 hours total of sleep (he usually falls asleep for an hour or so before we go to bed), waking up to nurse 2 or 3 times during the night, generally with at least one good, long stretch in there. k was never much of a sleeper as a baby, so this is great for me! i'm not burned out like i expected and neither is the boy, which is good because he's working fulltime and going to school as well.

My baby's schedule sounds exactly like yours, Bethany. She only wakes once after sleeping around 7 hours then goes back to sleep for another four.
