Anyone waiting until birth to decide on a name?

No way! I like being able to call him by his name and talk to DH about DS as a person rather than it/baby/etc.

At the rate we're going, we may accidentally end up waiting until the birth! We cannot seem to find a boy's name we like, so if it's a boy.....
However, I'd like to have at least two possibilities for each sex so that when baby is born we can see which one fits best. So to answer your question... yes, no, sort of. :lol

We wait, kinda. What we did with Ethan is we had a list of 3 boys and 3 girls names. We really wanted to meet the baby before we named him. I think that is what we will do this time too.

Yes, we're waiting :)
We have talked a lot about first names that we like, and discarded some possibilities that one or the other didn't like, but we're going to wait to meet this baby to name him. That just makes sense to me -- we need to *feel* who he is, to find his true name.
People are kinda weirded out by this. I gather not many people take this route anymore? I don't really understand why not...

We're waiting, also. We have a list of about 20 right now, will probably grow more and then shrink to about 6-10 names that we'll bring with us. I also feel like I should meet the baby before naming him. We call him "bean" or "baby" for now. People keep asking us about names (or offering advice!), now that we know the gender, so I'm kind of glad we decided to wait, because I don't want to tell anyone the name until after the birth, either!

We are waiting too! We really want to meet baby and see how the name fits. I have known of people who change their baby's name around 6 months or so because the name wasn't really a fit.
My mother thinks this is bizarre...but how many people do you know that don't really fit their names? I think that this is becoming more popular to do....

we don't know the gender, and so we call the unborn babe Spud, as in baby potato. We do have a list of male and female names which we'll whittle down to 2 or 3 each and take with us at labour so that also once we meet her/him we will see what name really fits
although we have chosen the middle name should it be a boy or a girl, we fear our cute little pet name will stick - I guess it's not so bad as we mean it with the deepest of love (maybe something we'll call him or her at home and not in front of its friends when it's a teenager :blush 'cos I know how embarassing that could be; my Mum would call me those pet names in our own language at home so no-one had to know, it's like they misheard, but again it's actually quiet endearing being called "little mouse", or "pussy cat", or "dearest" in your mother tongue)

Glad to see I am not the only one. My last took me a month to name. His birth certificate had to be filed without a name...) I call the fetus "baby" when refering to him right now.
Hopefully I won't have such a hard time deciding on a name this time!

Not really planning on waiting until then, but it actually seems like that is what is going to happen. We can't find the *right* name, and the ones we have, we want to see if the baby will *fit* into!

We've had a girl's name we've liked forever--Sarah Elizabeth
but I'm not feeling overly passionate about it these days :lol
For a boy...
well that is where the problems start. We really don't have any names picked out that won't have me more tongue tied than I already am (too many vowels in our kid's names!)
And I'm one who ususally changes my mind after meeting the babe .
For now, the baby is MayBaby. It is a name we can all handle (including our 2yo) and no one asks where we got the name from :lol

Hubby and I were going to name baby Sarah Elisabeth if it were a girl. Now that we know its a boy he's Matthew Paul.
I still think Sarah Elizabeth (Elisabeth) is a beautiful name that will never go out of style or seem tooo faddish.
