Okay, let me first give a little info so you don't think I'm just incredibly naive. LOL I know the high possibility of spotting/cramping after an internal, and I'm a nurse, so I hear docs warn of it regularly. I realize that everything can mean nothing and vice versa, but I'm just looking for stories. :)

But...I've NEVER spotted after an internal during this pregnancy (I've had several already) or ever prepreg. Today I had my 36.5 week appt. and my cervix is "ready" to dilate (extremely thinned and very soft). All day long today after the appt. I've been spotting light & dark brown, which would make sense to be from the exam, but like I said, I've NEVER spotted or cramped after one before. I've also had very light cramps off and on all day, but I actually started noticing them a couple days ago (so before the appt- they just worsened today). I still have occasional BH, and my baby is VERY low (dropped at 32 weeks), and I already lost part of my plug at 34 weeks after 2 days of similar spotting (which of course may have simply regenerated by this point anyway).

Another thing...I'm feeling a lot MORE pressure down there (if you can imagine, having had the baby drop so early, it's been bad for a while LOL). My vagina kind of throbs and feels sore, like sometimes when I'm on my period. Everything just feels kind of different.

Just wondering if any of this sounds similar to anything you ladies experienced shortly before labor began. Once again, I realize that everything can mean nothing and vice versa, but I'm just looking for stories. :)

**My doc has kind of expected me to go early all along, and today, toyed with the possibility of me going before my appt. next week. I'm "planning" on going late, though, to ease the waiting.

I walked around for two weeks like this with DD. I know this isn't necessarily what you wanted to hear but that was my experience. She was my first however so that probably played a role in why it took so long.

Nope, fine with me. :) Like I said, I know it can mean something or nothing, so you didn't disappoint me. :lol

Any chance your doc stripped your membranes during the exam without mentioning it to you? That could account for the increase in contractions/cramps and the spotting that is unusual for you. And if he has been "expecting" you to go early all along and found that your cervix is thinning and soft, perhaps he thought he might help things along...
