Okay, so I think we've all heard of how common it is to have loose stools before/during labor, as a means of the body "clearing itself out." (nature's enema, so-to-speak LOL) But has anyone not so much had "loose" stools as just larger BM's right before/during labor? Like, just "more" at a time? Sorry about the TMI part, but just wondering... :shy

Well, I'm not in labor yet but for the last week or two there's definitely been "more"! Even stopped up the toilet a couple times. :blush It's not particularly comfortable, since the baby's low position is blocking easy passage of both #1 and #2. The past couple days I feel like I need to go constantly (instead of merely 30 times a day, LOL).

Everything for me has always been "normal" before birth in that department. With my first birth, I awoke with a "different kind of contraction." I had some bloody show within a few minutes, went downstairs to call my mw & had a good sized bm. That was it - I cleared out.
With Dd2, I again awoke in the middle of the night to a contraction & had bloody show again within a few minutes. I kept waiting & waiting for the big bm, "the signal."
The pressure ended up becoming so intense that I was holding my crotch from front to back. I kept visiting the pot thinking that the big bm was coming! Never came, but my water blew like a geyser! And away went all of the pressure :wink , never did poop with Dd2...
