Blood clot? or tissue

Hi mamas,
I am 4 weeks PP (just had twins) and I have had very light bleeding the last 2 weeks, just been wearing pantyliners. Today I had what I thought was a blood clot but now I am not sure. It was more long instead of round like a clot and it almost looked like tissue. My midwives checked both placentas and there were no pieces missing. What other tissue could it be? I haven't had any signs of infection like fever or feeling sick. Do you think it could have just been a weird blood clot? Anyone else experienced this? Thanks for your help.

could have been a clot or could have been a piece of membranes
infection usually has some other symptoms to go with it- pain, fever...
when you look at the placenta it can all be there but membranes can shred or one layer can peel a bit and you might not see that there is a missing part. on the other hand clots come in all shapes
