Well I'll probably jinx myself by writing this, but...
Friday I had some prelabor (very light) contractions through the evening hours, then Saturday and Sunday I had some brownish discharge. Early this morning I lost some of my plug and have lost a couple more bits and had a little bloody show today. What contractions I have now are sort of "light/medium" (uncomfortable but don't have to stop what I'm doing) and happening about every 15 minutes to half hour. My back aches terribly, ugh, but baby isn't posterior, thank heavens. I had hoped when I saw plug that it would be today, but I'm thinking (hoping!) in the next day or two. Really tomorrow would be ideal, since my DD's birthday is Wednesday and I think she'd prefer not to share. But then it's not like I get to choose! Hopefully soon...I am so excited to meet this little one :heartbeat ...but at any rate at least there are tangible signs that I'm not actually going to be pregnant forever, which is how it's been feeling, LOL!

I can't wait to experience those tangible signs. At this point, I'm pretty sure I will be the first person in history to be pregnant forEVER.....
Best wishes!

Sorry to jump into your thread, but I think things are starting here too!! I was really crampy with a backache last night, so I packed my bags and finished up a few things. Also some very faint contractions off and on. Slept ok and then lost my plug this morning. Having a little bloody show off and on. Also having to go to the bathroom alot, so maybe my body is emptying things out?!? No real contractions yet though. This is very different than how my labor with dd started, so I'm not totally sure but I'm hoping the baby comes soon!
I have an appt for a hair cut at 11, so if the real thing could wait until after that I will be very happy!!
Sending out happy labor vibes!!

Holy Moly! I could of wrote this post. I started losing my plug Saturday afternoon, more on Sunday night and then more yesterday morning. Then during my NST I had four contractions within 20 minutes. I have had them about every 14-15 minutes last night. I am still having them this morning.
At my appointment last Thursday I was 1cm dialated and 50% effaced. Lets hope things are moving along for both of us.

I'm so jealous! My edd is tomorrow, & no signs whatsoever!!! I thought my body was trying to go into labor yesterday at the mechanics but that I was too stressed out for it to go anywhere. However, nothing since then. . .
BUT to all of you who are seeing signs, GOOD BIRTHIN'!! :love

Wow~go mamas go! I have had some tightening in my upper belly, but it's not painful or regular or anything. I still have 20 days till my edd though. I think I will be shocked when things do start to happen, because I have no real bh or anything. I will be looking for some more birth announcements in the next few days!

Woohoo! Good signs! :D
I've been having some signs too, I'm excited & anxious.
Had some "pink show" over the weekend, plus some strong contractions that lasted a few hours then faded on Sunday.
Went to the hospital Monday to check for amniotic fluid leakage, because I had been feeling really leaky. No amniotic fluid, and the resident doc measured me at about 1 cm dilated. (Last week I was not dilated at all yet.)
Then yesterday I had my 37 week appointment and saw my regular OB doc, and she said I am now close to 2 cm dilated. Around 80% effaced. She couldn't measure the baby's station, because my plug is gone, my membranes are tight and bulging down, so she was afraid she would break my water if she applied any pressure! She said her instincts tell her we will probably have the baby sometime this week. No guarantees of course! She thinks my pink show & leakiness was probably my plug coming out gradually. I've been having contractions, some are pretty uncomfortable but not terribly painful.

Well, I think I jumped the gun. Not long after I posted all the bloody show and contractions disappeared. I've had maybe five contractions in the last 24 hours. Of course I told DH I lost my plug and now he is driving me crazy, calling all the time to see how I feel and such. And he called his sister, even though I asked him not too. I know it's sweet and all but it's driving me nuts.
My doula came over to do a relaxation session last night and I did have a couple of good, powerful contractions during that. I'm starting to wonder if I am holding things up somehow, being a little stressed about taking care of dd and trying to get things done during the day. All the episodes of contractions I've had have been at night after everyone has gone to bed.
Sending labor vibes to all the mamas who are close, can you believe it's finally February!!!!

I didn't have any BH with DS #1 (that I felt) or any bloody show or loss of mucous plug (that I noticed)...some women don't, so don't worry too much about it :)
And especially if this is your first, it may be helpful to think of the date when you'll be 42 weeks pregnant as your "due date" (vs. 40 weeks) since it's much more likely your deliver closer to 42 weeks.
Hang in there :)

I have been trying to think this way from the beginning, but I'm really starting to see my due date as "baby arrival time"! It doesn't help that my DP's mother and sister are calling and emailing, and saying things like "this could be the day!" and "any day now!". I always respond "you might be saying that for the next five weeks, you know!"
Have we heard anything from Ellasmama since she wrote this? How about katwrangler?

For some silly reason, I keep hoping to see a mucous plug or some blood. WhenI have never seen that in any pregnancies! LOL
With my son, I was even dilated to 4-5 cm before labor and never saw anything! So I dont know whay I am expecting to see anything...

Yeah, we usually see a post from ellasmama every day and nothing since she posted that! Come on baby!!
Today was the day my mom predicted and though she was right with DS I think she missed the mark on this one. Well, I've still got 8 hours left of Feb. 1st. I just ate a bunch of salsa. It could happen :lol

Well I had about three weeks of stuff that I thought would end in labor for sure,,, nope. Everything has gone away other than the occasional pang. Oh well. I was late with ds so I guess Feb 8 will come and go and then she will finally come out. I just can't wait to meet her.

I'm going to join in on the "think something might be happening" club.
I went into the OB today. I'm 3 cm and soft and 60% effaced. I've been losing my plug in little parts here and there since then.
I have also been having contractions and cramping all day (not timing them yet- WAY too much frenzied cleaning, organizing, picture hanging, sanding and mudding and laundry going on...).
:lol I'm busy I guess.
Oh and baby is LOA instead of the ROA he was in for a long time.
I think I will wrangle DH into DTD later (like that's difficult :down) and see how things pan out overnight. I woke up in hard labor with DD so who knows.
Hope EllasMama checks in soon. :)
