My boys are 6 & 2 1/2. We've always had their own room set up, they have bunk beds. Until last night, they've slept in our room, baby ds in our bed, and older ds on a little bed next to our bed. Last night, baby ds decides he wants to sleep in his room on his bottom bunk, and older ds wants to sleep on the top bunk. So I snacked baby ds to sleep in his bed and they both slept in there until around 3-4am, when they both found their way to our room again. It was soooo strange! My bed/room felt so empty with just dh & I in it. Baby ds has NEVER slept without me at night, and he totally slept fine! He is so secure and brave, it just amazes me. And my older ds is of course just happy wherever I think.
And silly Mama moment, tonight I tried to get baby ds to want to sleep in my room :innocent He would have none of that, he climbed in his bed and said "Mama, me sleep, you snack here". So I nursed him to sleep in there and there he is asleep right now. Is this really how it's going to be now?! AHHHHH!!! I figured another year at least. He's growing up faster than I know. They both are!
On the plus side, both dh & I got to really stretch out. But I also took a long time to fall asleep (I kept trying to find the statistics of bunk bed collapses online & I made dh find another carbon monoxide detector to plug in by their room, lol. I seriously was afraid having them in another room!)
