Just thought I'd start us off for the month of Feb. Anyone else amazed at the fact that we have to scroll down now to get to May 2006??? And that it's really Feb 2006 already??? Woah.

Feelings lots of movements here - kinda strange, if you ask me. Hope everyone is happy and healthy. . . and not staying up too late, like me. Are you doing your kegels?

Yayy Michelle! Congrats to you and your DH on the job. What a relief! How's the family's health?

HollysMom - I found a great midwife. She comes to our place for the prenatals,
and she's totally laid back and cool. Very fun.

How's everyone doing??

Thanks for asking! We're doing great. :) This was the second warmest January in 126 years here in Indiana so we had a really mild month... which included a few nice trips to the park while dh was out of work. He's really enjoying his new job. :thumb

I'm just in utter shock that I'm already 26 weeks. How on earth has time passed so quickly?! I got really lucky- I do eBay sales for a baby boutique owned by some family friends... they're closing their doors and I'm selling some stuff on eBay for them. They gave me some cute newborn clothes, nice ones like Zutano brand. :love So the baby will have a few new clothes and not just hand-me-downs. LOL I just need to get a few more prefolds and maybe 2-3 more diaper covers (or I'll knit a couple more) and a new stroller and I'll be set. I'm already pretty well set on things in the babywearing department.

Next?...

Yeah, how the heck is it February already?

I'm 25 weeks today... amazing! (Having tried for so long, this is really an amazing, awe-filled experience for me. I know it is for people who didn't try as well, but the 22 months I spent so depressed b/c I wasn't pregnant are all worth it now.) I spend a lot of time just rubbing my belly and feeling the baby moving around! :love

And I have the HUGEST belly ever! It's really fun (except when it gets all wet doing the dishes! :lol) Here's this week and last week's pics: http://alexisyael.livejournal.com/236066.html#cutid1

We're having a "baby brunch" this weekend to talk to the parents we know and get their ideas about what baby stuff to register for (and what we don't need). This was my DH's idea... he needs to hear it from people, instead of looking around online. Luckily, he's already been told by one of the dads who is coming that "most of the stuff we got was useless" so I think their advice will be up our alley... or so I hope!

Hope everyone else is having a good time right now!!!! (Yay for your DH's new job, Michelle! And YAY for the new, cool midwife, eorr!)

Just popping in to say Hi! Glad everyone is doing well. The time is starting to go faster and faster. I really have to start getting organized before the third trimester tiredness gets me.

alexis- awww, look at that cute belly! :love

Kristine- I'm just freakin' out that after my prenatal in 2.5 weeks I think it will be time for the biweekly visits already. Third trimester here we come!

I just can't believe how fast this pregnancy has gone by. I'm excited to meet this little baby but I just love being pregnant- even if my pelvis is separating this time around. :lol There's nothing like being pregnant and feeling those little bumps and knocks in your womb. And now I'm waxing on and on... :blah

That's a GREAT idea!! Let us know what you end up with!

Doing well here, it's amazing how much there is to learn about giving birth and raising a baby. I feel like I need to read everything before the baby comes, because then I will be in "time? what time?!?" mode...

I just joined a year-round CSA, so I'm madly trying to use the veggies and fruits we get each week. Mmm! It's fairly expensive (more than we usually spend on produce), but it's organic and I figure if I eat fruit instead of other snacks, that's a good thing!

I'm lovin' feeling the kicks. Very exciting! I can't wait until one of the cats gets kicked and jumps a mile high. One of them was washing himself on my lap last night and jabbing my belly with his leg - and the baby was jabbing right back! It was hilarious.

Glad to hear everyone is enjoying these final weeks and months.
My divorce was finalized last week and I will be driving from Washington to Texas next week to start my life over. I'm nervous and excited about starting my life over.
The little one has been moving, kicking, and punch almost non-stop. I'm still only 138 lbs and my pre-preg weight was 131. I think she is healthy and growing just fine. The dr.s are giving me some crap about it, but I feel great so thats that. I had a little scare last Thursday because I had some cramping and bright red blood in my panties. No contractions and cervix is closed so they said just take it easy for a few days and you'll be fine.
I have my GD test tomorrow and midwife appointment. My last one here before moving then I have to find a new dr. wish me luck. Have a great day ladies.

It's nice to see everyone doing so well! :D

Nice belly alexisyael! :)

Be well Sadiebug, I hope your trip is as smooth sailing as possible. :hug

So you guys I got back from my 27 week prenatal today and boy was I steamed! The doc that I usually see hasn't been on rotation at the hospital that I've been going to, (she's at the other hospital that I may end up delivering at til mid March, I'm pretty sure I'm changing docs and hospitals in April, long story :flipped ) so I saw another doc that I've seen once before that was OK that time which is why I requested her for this and the March 3 appointment that's coming up.

She ended up giving me static about my refusal of the GTT but ultimately was OK with what I had decided. She asked if I would do the finger prick instead and I didn't see a problem with that as I know babe and I are perfectly fine and from my research could not see problems with this as I had with the GTT. (Although my first mind told me to continue to refuse it all, should have just listened, even though, like I said, everything turned out fine, though they want to do it every visit which I don't care too much about cause like I said, all is well.)

So the doc that the doc who did my prenatal had to check out with just kept questioning and challenging my decision about this. I told her my reasons, as I told the prenatal doc today, as I told the usual doc and the person she had to check out with at the previous visit, who both totally respected my decisions and totally seemed to understand and agree with me that birth is a natural event that doesn't need to be overly managed. Why didn't these people get that? It's getting really annoying having to keep explaining myself over and over and over (when I'm in the heat of things I can't remember everything I want to say which just frustrates me more and gives them more reason to think they shouldn't listen to me b/c I obviously know nothing about my own body :splat ) but I will continue to do so to have the PG and birth I want. I will fight for this, though I'd rather not have to you know? :(

At one point the head doc lady, while in the midst of trying to coax me into changing my mind :irked: , said to me that she didn't want to have to worry about the baby for the next 13 weeks and I said oh, I'm not worried about the baby at all, and she goes well I am. :angry WTF? :cuss Who the hell says something like that to a PG woman? To anyone? I was really trying not to get into too much debate here and then just simply said that I just don't want it done, at which point she finally dropped it. Even though I had just said that we didn't want any unnecessary interventions and procedures, that I totally trusted my body to grow and birth this baby.

Whew! :blah That rant needs it's own thread! Sorry about that ladies, I guess I was still more irritated about that than I thought I was. :innocent All in all, everything's groovin' along over this way. Babe is just the love of my life, with all that kicking and such, tee-hee :love . However, using my bladder as a bouncy toy is so not cool! :lol Hope your Friday is going well guys! :D

L'lee- good idea on the CSA! We should do that, because I'd feel guilty for wasting a bunch of fruits and veggies if I'd already paid for them. :lol Luckily the local Farmer's Market is close enough I can walk so we'll have to get back to it as soon as it starts up again.

Sadie- best wishes with your move and all!

mamacat- how awful! :( I know it's really possible to get the birth you want with a more medically minded provider, but it does stink to have to fight so much for it. And I think her comments were uncalled for. :( I was going to ask what your chances of having her at your birth are, but it sounds like if you've changed providers by then it won't be an issue. Hang in there and kudos on sticking to your guns. :Hug

Sadiebug -- good luck with the drive (and with the new life :hug Moving can be tough, especially when you're in a transition like just having been divorced, but hopefully you will meet some GREAT new friends in Texas and be very happy! Where exactly are you headed?)

Alrighty... no time for an update (though I did have a great, relieving chat with my MW today, who put my mind to rest about my fears that she may be too hands on) -- I've got lots to do to get ready for our "baby brunch" tomorrow! But I'll definitely let ya'll know how it goes!

Hi ladies,
With the quarter starting back up, I'm back at school and the time is just flying by!

Things here are good. Felt the first strong "punch" that seemed to respond to pressure from the palm of my hand last night :bouncy It took my breath away to have that kind of interaction.

I've switched providers to a family practice doc who's just more on my page as far as birth. It feels good to have made the decision.

I've been hit by the nesting bug BIG time. It's good that particular bug has hit because I have a lot of organizing/storing stuff to do. Last night DH started ripping up carpet to have our old wood floors refinished and next month hopefully it'll be warm enough that I can keep the house well-ventilated and paint the dining/living/office area.

Mamacat--I hope your provider situatation improves and that you can be the advocate to get the care you need.

busybusy-I finally clicked on your sig and love the photo of you in the tub! What a happy laborer!

sadiebug--good travels to you, some parts of Texas are actually beautiful, hope you enjoy the drive!

alexis--good luck on the baby brunch!

alexisyael you have an awesome preggy-belly! How was the baby-brunch?

Sadiebug, I hope your move goes well, be safe.

mamacatsbaby what an insensitive person that head doc is!

momatheart I know the nesting feeling. Running out right now to go to babies r us to shop before tax free week ends.

As for my own update, I'm doing well this trimester. Currently 23 weeks 5 days along. Thankful that the nausea seems to be (knock on wood) over. However, I'm still tired a lot.

I started going back to the chiropracter and that is helping me as well. I'm looking into prenatal yoga and hope to find a class soon. My Bradley method classes start up Feb 16th. I'm psyched even if that's a little strange. I have my next midwife appt on feb 7 and my 3d/4d sonogram on Feb 11 so i'm all excited now.

My brother's wife is due May 22, so we're in the shower planning stage for her. I know mine is coming up in April sometime and we're setting up the furniture in the Nibblet's room in mid-March.

It feels so much better that things are finally starting to happen.

Oh and I went to glamourshots ( :splat :cuss :censored too long of a story but NEVER go to glamourshots would be my advice!) and got preggy belly pics, but they're not back yet. I'll post them when they get here!

I'm sure there's more, but thats all I can think of for now!

Thanks momatheart! I'm so glad that you have been able to find a provider that you click with. Awesome! :thumb As far as nesting goes, it seems to have become fly by night over this way. OMG, I'm soooo exhausted, 2 hours after I got up this morning, I went right back to sleep! It's making it a bit difficult to get much done! :lol

CindyCaz, I'm sorry that the Glamour Shots experience got hairy for you. Booo, hisss to them! :hopmad I do hope that the pics came out well for all the trouble they seem to have put you through. :hug Oh, I am cracking up at your siggy! :rotflmao

Hello, my name is Amanda...

and I am addicted to cloth diapers.

Seriously. I need help. I've already purchased/traded for 22 (yes, that's 22) dipes in the past month or so. :bag: Dh and I haven't even decided if we can CD full time, since we don't have our own washer/dryer. I'm not even having a baby for another 4 months! And I'm so embarrassed about it, that I've started making sure I get the mail before he gets home and hiding the dipes. And I'm STILL coveting a bunch of stuff from hyena cart. If anyone has suffered from this affliction, and gotten it under control, I would be grateful for any advice. Do they make some sort of patch that releases a steady stream of PUL and fleece into your system so that you don't need to keep buying dipes?

Other than that, all is well. Babe is kicking up a storm. Going for my 24 week appointment next week. Looking forward to the home stretch, so I can finally meet this little person! (When does the third tri officially start, BTW).

CindyCaz...how cool that your SIL is having a baby right around the same time as you. We have friends who are due two weeks after us, and we can't wait to get the babes together.

alexisyael...Enjoy your baby brunch! What fun.

Sadiebug...hugs. Hope you're feeling a little better about everything.

Well, I wanted to do more personals, but bun is insisting on a snack. :lol Stay positive and healthy, ladies!

Hi Ladies!

I haven't taken part in a chit-chat thread in quite awhile...so i feel like i have no idea what's going on with anyone...playing catch-up now.

so, i've just switched M/Ws. the group i was going to was a group of 10 (!) who were on a constant call rotation...meaning i could get any one of the 10 for the birth. i felt that none of m/ws i saw even really cared to get to know me at all. the visits were "baby's heart sounds fine, see you in four weeks" when i had questions to ask, they wouldn't even sit down. like, maybe if she stands up, then i won't ask too many questions or need much involvement. anyway, this new m/w group seems much better-there are only 2 and seem much more natural minded--not just paying lip service like the other group. as i was talking to the new m/w the other day, she said "you don't seem like hte usual clientele of that m/w group" meaning most of them come in expecting/wanting drugs and full intervention--just birth the baby for me kind-of-people. :fingersx: that this really is the place i should be....

in other fun news, we are almost done with our basement. it's been a year of working on it to finish it to usuable living space. i'm so excited about having more space :bouncy although,t hat means it will need to kept clean as well as the upstairs. this is mainly the family "play" area...toys for the kids, and daddy's new tv and stereo/home theatre stuff is down there. but i get a new craft room ! yeah ! i get to keep my mess out and not have to worry too much about little fingers getting into half-done projects.

so, hope everyone is having a swell weekend

Hi all! How is everyone? I am ok just taking care of my sick ds.....:(.....he has had
a fever for 5 days now so I guess I am taking him to the doc in the morning.

Ok I have a question when does the 3rd trimester start? I have read 24wks then 28wks....which is it? I havn't asked my doc so I was wondering if any of you know.
this pg is just flying by so fast I keep thinking I only have 7-8 appts left. I can't believe I am almost at the 2wk appt mark......anyways hope all of you are having
a great weekend.

Third trimester, hmm. Seems like I've seen 28-29 weeks is what I've heard but when I Google'd I found: Dr. Spock says 27 weeks, netwellness.org says 28 weeks, so I guess you get different answers at different places. :shrug

Oh, this was interesting is anyone wants to figure it: http://www.ivfer.com/pg_calc.htm

Hi All -

I've been MIA - we just got back from vacation. Went to Florida to see DH's grandmother (DS had never met her!) and then went to St. Augustine to relax in the sun! Had a great last "hoorah" before baby!

Everything is pretty smooth right now. I have already started organizing/nesting etc and feel pretty much prepared for the next 3 months! :lol of course that is now....talk to me in a few weeks....

I have a mw appt this week. Have been having BH like crazy! Did not have this with DS! Happens every evening for hours...quite uncomfortable. I keep telling myself that it is good exercise for my uterus...

I thought 25 weeks was 3rd Trimester...???but who really knows!

NYCVEG...yes I love dipes too. I really have to just stay away from websites etc. We are going to just use prefolds and covers and our leftover stash from DS this time. But, I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE all the cute little AIO's and things out there! I can't really bring myself to do the trading post - although I have used my SIL's stash - I have this thing about used diapers/underwear etc.

Good to see what everyone is up to.

Well looks like by that I start mine in 2 weeks...that would make me a little over 27 wks so I guess that is about right.
He isn't feeling better yet. I am taking him to the doc in the morning though but now
dd is saying she doesn't feel good and she is already in the bed sound asleep and
it isn't even 7pm yet. So I may be taking both of them tomorrow. IDK what is wrong
with ds I talked to a nurse and she said it sounded like a sinus infection so IDK we'll
see. I just don't want him to take any antibiotics if it isn't necissary....kwim....

alexisyael you have an awesome preggy-belly! How was the baby-brunch?

Thanks, Cindy :D I love my baby-belly :love

The baby brunch went OK. It was our first party *ever* where there was a scene -- most of my mom friends are pretty conventional, and there was a bit of a scene between two (friends, actually) who had different views on birth. One of them ended up leaving in tears. It was hard. I'll send her a little note on Monday. (There's onviously much more to this story, but I don't want to talk more about it, cause it was very emotional for the friend involved. Suffice it to say, she had traumatic births and it's been difficult for her to recover.)

Anyway, the upshot was that my DH got to talk to people about "baby stuff" and luckily he got the gist of things -- which is basically that there's nothing set in stone, and we should basically get what we want. So, he's feeling relieved now -- he basically was afraid that there was some set in stone list of stuff we "needed" but we had no clue what it was! :lol (OK, I thought the same thing til I read all the threads about baby stuff on MDC!)

Overall, it was OK. I really do wish there hadn't been a scene, tho. I felt so bad for both the women.

Hey -- a lot of us are house shopping right now, aren't we? We're actually in the process of finding an agent right now... doing some open-houses, too, but not really seriously yet.

No kidding! I know so many people who are not only pregnant right now, but due in May or June! I love sharing pregnancy with friends though :).

I'm doing great here. I love this part of being pregnant ~ not uncomfortable, sleeping well, no nausea, just fun little pokes and kicks from my belly. I've started doing both prenatal yoga and water aerobics in addition to my usual walking regimen and I'm really enjoying both. They all seem to work different muscles. No exciting appointments or anything for another few weeks, so I'm just sailing along through my last few weeks of this 2nd trimester.

Amanda- I got into soooo much trouble with cloth diapers. I was trading/buying/swapping like crazy and it got way out of control. I think I could have had ds in Huggies Supreme for what I spent. :lol This time we're going the cheaper route: prefolds and MotherEase & handknit covers. A bit off topic, but...you can find a lot of brand spanking new stuff on the TP. Initially, I traded for some used diapers, but dh is also a bit uncomfortable with used stuff. A lot of people sell things that have never been worn, however--stuff they bought and then didn't fit, dipes that they just didn't get around to using, styles they decided they didn't like, etc. I just bought a an adorable newborn Muttaqin and a limited edition Rumpster AIO, both brand new (washing instructions still inside), from a mama on the TP who just hadn't gotten around to using them before her dd got too big.

Amanda, I think I might have you beat. :blush

I have 38 nb diapers (including 10 dyed prefolds), 7 nb covers, 8 size small dipes, and one llamajama set she won't even fit into for months.

Lets not talk about the 4 carriers I've bought...

I need someone to take away my paypal. My husband doesn't yet realize that I have stepped beyond necessary purchases. Ok, he just looked over my shoulder while I was typing that, now I've been caught. :mischief

I still have a few necessities to buy I suppose - a pail liner, wet bag, some snappies, and some infant sized prefolds. :heartbeat

Lindsay...the ONLY thing that has kept me from going completely hog wild is the fact that I registered for a bunch of dipes (12 NB fitteds; 6 covers; 6 NB AIOs). I'm trying not to buy TOO much NB stuff, in the event that some kind soul would like to get it for me! BTW, we've registered for 4 carriers (a Hotsling for each of us; Wise Woman sling for me, and Baby Bjorn for dh) and I already have a mei tai, so I think you sound perfectly reasonable! :D

I'm clearly not having that problem with stuff for this baby. :p Hyena Cart IS evil, and TheBabyWearer forums have really done me in also. I'll see a super cute carrier for a great deal and I just *have* to have it. I bought a moby wrap, a mei tei, a ring sling, and a hotsling. I still want to buy DH a hotsling but beyond that I'm definitely done for awhile. So I say. :lol

Well I had to take ds to see another doc bc his regular one wasn't in the office yesterday well ya know what the genious told me.....he might have a little bit of
an ear infection and he might have a sinuse infection so give him amoxacillian
for 10days and he should be ok.... OMG I could not be more frustrated!!!!!!!!
He gets pain god knows how much money and he can't even tell me for sure what is
wrong with him!!??? I don't think it is an ear infection bc any other time he has had
one he says his ear hurts and is pulling on it and he is doing nither......It just p's me
off that they just send him off with those stupid antibiotics! To top it all off they
didn't even give him anything for his EXTREMELY stoped up nose I mean he can't even
breathe through his nose and now his lips are all chapped from having to breathe out
of his mouth......aaaarrrrggggg that just irritates the p out of me! Anyways now I am
getting sick and seems to be the same thing he has and well ear infections aren't contageous!

Aw, your poor ds! :( I hate when docs prescribe anbx for viral infections. :splat We like our ped quite well, but some of the other peds in the office just write an rx for anything and I don't like that. I hope you are all on the mend very soon! :Hug

NYCVEG -

Oh yeah - thanks a lot - now I am going to be lurking the trading post! :lol

EllyMay - I have this great guide called Smart Medicine for a Healthier Child - It provides both Conventional and Natural Treatments for Infants and Children. It has really saved us from unnceccessarily using antibiotics...You might find a copy in your library to see if you like it first! I haven't taken DS to the doctor's since he was 1 and that was only for a reg. check-up. Certainly, I would take him if it was serious - but for obvious viral things or stomach upset or headache etc...I use this book. Good luck and hope you guys get well soon. (Oh the natural/healing forum is a good source of info too!)

ThatLINGirl - Oh are you telling me that slings are up for sale on the Babywearing Forum? Oh no.... :nut I am in double trouble now!

I had some things to share - but I can't remember what they were. LOL. I am really, really ready for DS to wean all the way. He only nurses at naptime and at night - but it is DRIVING ME CRAZY! We have started this week with some pretty strong limits - nurse for a few minutes, say night night to nursies and try to go to sleep. Works about 50% of the time. This morning he was insisting on nursing (which is an unusual time) and I stuck to my guns. Offered Snuggles, back rubs, juice or milk. After throwing a major tantrum, he got some OJ and then curled up in the bed with me for about 30 minutes while I rubbed his back. Oh the torture of it all :p I know we will get through this...I hope before baby comes tho.

Hope everyone is well -

Traci

NYCveg-I feel your pain with the dipes.

Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it) we are on the tightest of budgets right now and I cannot induldge in Trading Post purchases. Plus, DH has a thing about buying dipes from people we don't know....even if they've never been worn.

My mom would like to get us some though, does anyone know offhand the best site to send her to to order them? She doesn't do a lot of internet shopping, so the more user-friendly the better. TIA!

Glad to hear everyone's feeling good. I go for an appointment at my new provider's this week, yippee!

Sat down to do some early morning research online and oops! ended up at MDC....I have no will power!

I did a lot of research, prior to registering. Here are a bunch of sites that have large selections of the most common brands. There are also a lot of sites with more specialized stuff, but these seem to have lots of stock and be pretty user friendly:

http://www.jilliansdrawers.com/store/clothdiapers.html
https://www.diaperco.com/shop/home.php
http://www.kellyscloset.com/
http://www.lilbunz.com/store/Default.asp

I'm sure others will have more suggestions, as well.

So...just got back from my 24-week appointment. Everything's looking good. I'm measuring 26 cm. Even my mw was shocked at how active this little bun is! :D (Enough so that she put it in the chart.) She was listening to the baby's heartbeat with the fetoscope (not doppler, which does often cause babies to react) and baby girl started kicking like crazy against the stethoscope, so that the mw had a hard time hearing the heartbeat. :lol I have the feeling she's going to be a little fire-cracker!

I need someone to take away my paypal. My husband doesn't yet realize that I have stepped beyond necessary purchases. Ok, he just looked over my shoulder while I was typing that, now I've been caught. :mischief
:lol My DH was just reading over my shoulder and found this quite amusing as well! :D

Oh man ellymay, that's no good! :( I'm sorry that the illness is now getting you down as well. I hope you guys find some relief soon. :hug

Mom2Adam a friend of mine has been going through the same kind of nursing driving her crazy stuff as well. She's nursed her 2 kids over the past 5 years, at one point tandem nursing, and she's ready to be done, even though a part of her will miss it. :)

momatheart I know! Totally and completely addictive. But I've got it all under control... :W

I hope all is well ladies! :D

How's everyone doing? I'm trying to come up with ideas for a "registry" list, in case friend puts together a party and people want to buy stuff. Some good ideas I got from other moms:

--Pregnancy photography.

--A dozen, or two dozen, or three dozen, or four dozen true Chinese
prefolds. They're great for everything: spit-up, wipe-ups, household
cleaning rags for years to come. Oh, they make really good cloth
diaper stuffers too :D ...get the really good kind that you have to
treat by hot-water-washing and hot drying through 5 complete cycles to
ready for use, and do it for her :)
http://www.houseofhugs.com/ChinesePrefolds.htm -- an example

--A membership to La Leche League and go with her to her first
meeting, while she's pregnant, or after baby comes.

--books

--belly casting kit

Anything to add, ladies?

Thanks for the midwife congrats, alexisyael. I feel great about it and know that I made the right decision.

Do your kegels. . . and kiss your loved ones!
Happy Valentine's Day - what are you going to do?? I'm thinking I'll dip some apples, grapes, strawberries and oranges in dark chocolate. . . mmm. . .

Actual transcript of a conversation I had with my mother today about my sister's scheduled c/s this week.

Me: How long will [sister] be in the hospital this time?
Mom: 5 days.
Me: 5 days?!? (Note: I know it's major surgery...But I somehow remembered her only being there for 3 days last time--my mom says it was 5 then as well, however.)
Mom: Yeah...well, she's really looking forward to it. She says it will be like a little vacation. She's planning on bringing a lot of books.

There you have it folks...forget Hawaii or Mexico...this year, go to the hospital for some nice vacation surgery!

hmmm...i've never considered a hospital stay as a vacation. though i suppose you do get full room survice...sponge baths if you want, and they can even change your sheets without you leaving the bed :down

oh well... one must look at the positive side to make the best of surgery and recovery.

my own mother is extremely pro-c/sec. she actaully believes MORE babies should be born that way :dropjaw she feels vag. birth is too "traumatic" on the body...she had four kids vag. and recovered just fine...i don't understand.

so, my good friend had a baby girl yesterday...she was induced :( for a fairly silly reason IMO, but they did it slowly enough that she actually was able to get through it without pain meds....YEAH for her (she really wanted a natural delivery). she was in and out of labor for three days (thanks to cytotech), and said that it only got really painful for the last three hours(thanks to pit.). so, i'm proud of her for not having an epi. and she seems really happy about how everything worked out, which is the most important thing.

it's a long story, but i'm all alone tonight...it feels really strange to have the house so quiet, and empty. i wasn't expecting dh and dd to leave (for MIL's house). it's not an unpleasant surprise, but just seems really odd...but a bunch of people are coming over in less than an hour (to play bunco) so i will enjoy the silence while it lasts.

have a great night ladies!

Hi Mamas,
I have been mia lately as I've been feeling really introspective and getting ready to move but have been reading and thinking about all of you struggling with various issues. My hugs go out to you!

My sweet DH gave me an appoinment for a local artist to do a belly cast for me in April as a Valentines gift last night. I was so surprised, it was great! It was also the 10 year anniversary of our first date.

I'm starting to worry about how my life is going to be for the next few months...I've developed heartburn/acid reflux that is truly painful, including this weird reflux that causes me to choke, even interrupting a deep sleep. It's actually really scary. Anyone have any advice or know what I'm talking about? Won't this get worse as baby gets bigger before she drops? Yikes!

It's also getting difficult to walk my pups. I lose my breath just walking up the stairs. I love my daily exercise with them and I just get almost nauseous and exhausted. Maybe the last month I'd understand this but not now. It's too soon to feel like this!!!!

Hope all is well with you gals!

Forgot to add belly pics!

eorr I think your registry list looks good, besides the fact that my brain can't do coming up with what things one would want or need right now. :p

dshields you be all belly mama, great pics! :) Ugh, reflux, I'm sorry to hear about that. :( What are you eating? Have you tried sleeping sort of propped up on pillows or something of the like? I hear you on losing your breath and feeling exhausted. I'm amazed at how much I've had to slow down. And I still lose my breath. Trying to sleep last night was quite uncomfy as the breathing was not coming so easily! I'm out of breath just sitting here typing. Where's that smilie? :raz

ellymay are you guys still in the throes of sickness?

I hope all is well ladies! :D

Thanks MCB, it felt really special because we were apart at school for almost half of those 10 years but worked really hard to keep our relationship strong! We made a romantic dinner for each other and stayed home last night. Very romantic.

As for the reflux, it seems that anything I eat aggravates it. I will try the elevated sleep thingy though.

On another note, not long ago I posted about being worried about not gaining enough so I switched to whole fat milk products. Today I hit the 25lb weight gain mark (1/4 of my pre-pregnancy weight!). So I guess it worked! I'm going back to low fat milk... :lol
