I was wondering when I should worry that I'm still bleeding bright red. Occasionally I see clot like bleeding, though nothing very large, and tonight in the shower I noticed stuff that looked like stringy fluffy tissue kind of stuff. I'm 10 days post birth. I have no cramping or anything, and my wee one is nursing every 2 hours during the day (sometimes less) and every 3 hours at night (roughly...he sleeps next to me and I sometimes don't bother to look at the clock when he nurses again)
My midwife is only on call Thurs.Fri. and Sat and I hate to use her emergency number if there isn't anything to worry about. Dh took all of last week off from work to help (we have 3 other children) but this week he went back so I've been on my own during the day. I've been trying to rest, and let anything go around the house that isn't absolutely necessary (I've done a bit of laundry, but the loads have been light). I've only gone to the store once and it was a quick trip, (after all, can't send Dh to buy nursing bras, right? :lol ) but then I went out yesterday as well to the baby's ped. I have to go again tomorrow. Maybe I really am overdoing it without even realizing it? Does it sound like I'm doing too much or could there be something else I should be getting checked for?
You'd think since this is my 4th baby all of this post partum stuff would be second nature.
