I had it with ds and was in the hospital 3 times. This time it has been pretty bad, but very controlable with Zofran and Phenergan everyday, since week 8 (I was only in the hospital once so far). I was hoping to be able to stop the meds soon but everytime I try I end up miserable and throwing up all day long so go back on. Is there another more natural way to control this? I'm already taking peppermint gels (w/ ginger and fennel) all day along with the meds. I've tried, Morning Magic, Papaya, B6, B12, Seabands, Rainbow Lights Prenatal Good Mornings. I want to feel good, not just nausous without throwing up. I feel like I've exhausted all of the natural ways, but I know there has to be something. I feel guilty taking all this medication, and it seems like I'll need all the way through. I could use any suggestions!

No suggestions, but tons of :Hug I had real morning sickness this time around with motion sickness that lasted until 16 weeks and thought that was bad enough so I can't imagine being sick still. :hug

I'm sorry mama, I don't have any suggestions either, just wanted to give you a big hug :hug . I could not fathom what you're having to go through with this. I hope you can find some relief. Oh, and have you checked out the Health and Healing Forum? Maybe they can shoot some ideas your way as well?

Sorry, :hug I don't have any advice from what you have already tried but I know how you feel. I had HG 15 years ago with my son and boy was it BAD!

No one understands that this is NOT normal morning sickness until they have experiened HG for themselves. The meds and hospitalizations starting at 6 weeks, weight loss, and having to carry a bucket with you EVERYWHERE in case you can't make it to the bathroom. YUK!

I hope you do find some relief soon! :)

Best Wishes

I had hyperemesis as well. Even had to stop working (I was a teacher) because of it. Nothing helped me but time. I guess my pregnancy grew out of it early January. I hope yours does so reeeeal soon.

I didn't have hyperemesis, but I did have pretty severe morning sickness that was debilitating. THe only thing that helped me was Zofran and even that didn't help too much until I was well into the second trimester. But I did get some good advice from helpher.org

Thank you all so much! I have been looking on helpher for a few months, and just finally registered today. It is just something I'm trying to get through without meds and still function, with two little ones it gets challenging. And no one IRL understands "oh your just sick because its a girl!" :irked: . I have found Hylands Motion Sickness Tabs and they seem to be doing the trick, not as well as Zofran, but hopefully it is safer, I have to look more into it. Thank you for all the support, it means so much that people actually understand here. Well, it can only last until May, right :wink

I suffered from severe hypermesis for my dd and was on a home IV with a visiting nurse from 9 weeks until 30 weeks. It's terrible to feel that way when you are looking forward to the best part of your life. No advice because you've tried everything. Just keep up the Zofran and keep your focus on the light at the end of the tunnel. Feel better soon!!!!

Mary- My m/s was accompanied by motion sickness and the Hyland's worked pretty well. I think they're good and cheap at vitacost.com And yes, they're safe! :)

PS- homepathic sulphur also helped me out quite a bit when I would suddenly start retching out of the blue.
