I'm sick. I think dd's sick. DS2 is sick. Things are getting really unpleasant around here.

DD is into everything. I can't stay on top of her. She's flushed a whole roll of toilet paper down the toilet. She's taking stuff out of the fridge and not finishing it...the cat ate her egg, and she wanted another one, but she left it on her plate. She's got everything she owns scattered everywhere, and gave her baby brother a pair of scissors to play with (no idea where she even got them...maybe from her big brother's room). She's taking off her wet diapers and dropping them everywhere. I told her we could go to the playground after her brother ate, and she got all excited...then took off all of her clothes. She started banging on the glasses in the china cabinet...she got into the cat food. She's spilled rice everywhere.

I'm yelling a lot, which is making me feel worse and it's killing my already sore throat. DS2 doesn't want to nurse, but he doesn't want to be put down, either (I don't own a sling and can't always carry him - he's over 20 pounds). He's usually the happiest baby in creation, but today, he's just constantly crying and nothing helps.

They both love it when I sing, but I can't right now...my throat's too raw and it sounds awful and it hurts. I feel like I'm going crazy.

Any tips, anybody? I just want to go back to bed...I've been wanting to go back to bed ever since I got up...

Okay - resorted to the plug-in-drug. I offered dd earlier, but she didn't want to watch it. Now, she's watching her Dora DVD...just have to cope with cranky ds2. I wish he'd nurse - I'm sure it would help his poor little throat...

:hug :hug wow, that all really, really stinks.

It's times like this when I love gates, and toddlerproofed rooms.

My suggestion was going to be to use whatever energy you had left to get one room as proofed as possilbe, and just try to hunker down there for a while so you can all get some rest. Also, if there's EVER a time for TV/DVDs, it when mom (and everyone else) is sick.

I hope everyone is feeling better soon!!

My bedroom is probably the most baby-proofed in the house (aside from dd's room, which is small), but even that doesn't slow down dd. She was up on the dresser, getting into my lotions earlier. I still haven't figured out how she gets up there...there weren't any open drawers, and there aren't any handles to climb on...

DH is home. DD's gone down for a nap. Now, we (dh, ds2, and me) are going to try to nap in our bed. I don't know if it will work, but right now, horizontal is my goal in life.

DS2 did finally nurse, and had a dirty diaper - he seems to be feeling better.

I'm basically rambling to myself at this point.

DD is still wired, and ds2 is still kinda cranky, and I still feel like crap. But, dh is home for two days. He's wonderful about this stuff. Hopefully, I can get a nap today. This bug can't last forever!
