I'm only six weeks (or so) and already some of my pants are too tight around the waist. My belly got really, really big with my first (my midwives thought I might be having twins) and I was showing by 12 weeks. Everyone says you show earlier with the second (and subsequent) pregnancies, but I wasn't expecting it to be THIS early! :lol

Anyone else digging out their maternity pants already?

Hi Sophia's Mom...
Yes I'm there with you. I am normally pretty thin and I showed my 16yo daughter my belly last night and she replied "Wow that's weird" when she saw how extended I was. Prior to M/C in Nov. I had a little pooch, but not like this. My pregnancy with my DD I gained 40+ pounds and must admit I used pregnancy as an exuse to pig-out. This pregnancy I am VERY conscious of being older (43) and therefore it'll be harder to take it off. I'm queesy :sick and forcing myself to ingest the nutrition I know is nesseccary for the baby which feels like I'm eating a lot, but I'm keeping a food diary at www.fitday.com which is helpful and I'm really not eating a ton. So whatever... :wink.

I guess with my age twins are more common which would be quite a lovely surprise for DH & I, we'll see when I go for my U/S later on.

Nice to meet you Sophia's mom...
Take care.

Me too--I'm down to 2 pairs of pants and one skirt that fit without killing me. I told dh (who is still in denial) that I'm going to have to go to our storage bin and find my maternity clothes soon. He just rolled his eyes at me.

Hope I can find them so I don't have to buy new stuff--we're on a tight budget right now (paying a mortgage till our house in MA sells and paying a huge rent in VA). I'm sure we'll be fine.

It's nice to be in good company! We weren't going to tell anyone about this one until at least 12 weeks (I waited until 16 weeks with Sophie b/c of a miscarriage before her), but I'm not sure I'll be able to hide it from friends and family that long... I guess I could let everyone think I've been hitting the cheesecake a little too often! :lol

I am still in my regular pants but I just turned 5 wks yesterday. With dh 1 I was in loose clothes by 10 wks and maternity clothes at 14wks. With dh 2 I was in loose clothes by 8 wks and maternity clothes at 10 wks, with my 3rd pg I was in loose clothes at 6 wks and maternity clothes at 8 wks. I was just getting worried that my pants still fit and dh just laughed at me. :lol

Add me to the club. I hate to be uncomfortable and my pants make me very uncomfortable. I went last night and bought the most comfortable pants EVER. They are these knit gaucho mat. pants. I swear I will live in them. They are just....awe.

Back to the original post. I feel huge. HUGE!!!!

Same here - I gained 50 lbs my last pregnancy, lost 40 of it, so I knew I'd look bigger earlier this time. Sure enough, at 5 weeks, I'm nearly full-time in sweatpants. I wasn't careful last time, didn't excercise - this time I'm going to have to do things differently at age 37!

I'm not up to maternity yet, but after ds I have tons more stretchy pants and longer shirts!! I hope I don't need my maternity stuff right away, because its all in IL. My friend just had her dd a couple of weeks ago so I have to get them to mail my clothes to me (and hers, too :) ) I do feel fatter than I did with ds though. Also, I didn't even find out about him until I was 7 weeks (I'm about 5 1/2 now).

i'm not even four weeks until monday and already i am soooo bloated that my pants all hurt my belly. i bought some cozy low rise exercise pants at walmart and i think i'm going to wear them everyday. :lol

my other 2 pregnancies i lived in overalls early on. they ended up falling apart though, so i think i need to go find some new ones.
