hi ladies- i am delurking to seek peace of mind. i'm at the end of week 38 and on to week 39. so far, a perfectly comfortable, wonderful, uneventful pregnancy.

this might be tmi for some! you are warned!

tuesday afternoon i had a midwife check up. she checked my cervix and told me there might be spotting. no big deal.

i've had spotting- or small brown blood smears on the tissue each time i pee- and on my underwear all day wednesday. is this more than spotting? i know there is this 'bloody show' thing when my cervix starts dialating- and this could be that, although it seems more blood than tinted mucus. i didn't obviously lose my mucus plug- but i know a lot of women don't notice- it just comes out as discharge. tuesday afternoon my cervix was beginning to open, but wasn't yet 1cm dialated. i feel crampy now in my belly. not pain- discomfort. and not happening and going away- kind constant.

i don't really feel like anything's wrong- but i wanted some other opinions. call the midwife? or does all seem normal? my next midwife appt. is monday. i think i am fine- but my 'symptoms' don't perfectly add up to what i've read, so...here i am.

what do you think?

I am not really sure either way. Probably it is nothing to worry about just normal cervix dialating kind of stuff. That being said if you are at all concerned about it, and it sounds like you might be, then call your mw! She can either put your mind at ease, or if something is up she should know.

I hope you find out all is well!

I think you're supposed to be on high alert for the bright red blood and take the brownish in stride--but better safe than sorry. Keep us updated...
