I think I am in labor Ouch here comes another one. This is how I felt when I left for the hospital in labor with Gabi. I just sent DH to work though. I don't think birth is immenent and he will get paid for the day if he atleast shows up. I did call my best friend but her answer machine picked up. She lives an hour and a half away so I thought she might appreciate the heads up. Basicaly the "cleansing process" started around 10:00 last night causing some good hard contrax. I made it to bed around 11:00 and got a really good sleep in. Woke up around 2:45 for round two of the above process and decided I was a bit hungry so I got a bowl of cereal down and havn't been back to bed. It's about 5:00am here in Texas. Wow, I guess I have been contracting for a while really nicely. These are coming every 3 to 5 min. or so. Some linger for quite a while specially in my low back. Baby has been posterior for days, so I am assuming this is causing the majority of the pain. Gabi is asleep in our bed so I am trying to stay quiet. I would like to jump in the shower cause it's so relaxing but afraid it will slow things down and I would love to have the baby today
Can't believe I went through this just 18 months ago. I must me nuts doing it again so quickly.
Well ladies, those of you that like to pray, please pray for a nice steady labor and that all my support people will show up and be wonderful, and that we will have a healthy mom and baby here at home before the end of the day!
You know I will update as soon as possible.

When should I call my people? Iv'e never done this at home before. I don't want to get too many people here too early but I also don't want to wait to long. These are definetly the "WRAP ALL THE WAY AROUND KIND" :o

I didn't know when to go in either. I didn't want to sit there for forever and *wait*. I just thought it would be more relaxing at home. We ended up waiting till my water broke before we did anything. hehehe! Good luck!!

I called once I was certain it was labor and wasn't going to go away. I just gave a head's up to my midwife, but didn't call her to come over until I was starting to feel that transition was imminent.
Good luck! Enjoy your birth!

Laurie....sending you soothing vibes, as well as happy healthy baby vobes your way today. I will keep you in my thoughts today. I hope you have a easy labor. I am so excited for you, and your family!
I have never labored at home, but think you should at least call to see when the ideal time they think they should come, as every home birth is different, after talking with friends that have done it. You don't want to wait to late, as this is not your first child, and sometimes labor is a lot more pregressive, and not as stalling.
Good Luck! Can't wait to hear birth story! :love

I'd call and let them know what's going on, they might have appoitments to cancel or child care to arrange.
Good luck, happy labor vibes to you :love

tHANKS everyone. it's 9:20 now and not a whole lot going on. Very spaced apart at this point. Whatever time I signed off here I was hurting so bad I thought my body was going to rip in half so I got in the shower. Guess it was too much relaxation. Gabi has nursed quite a bit this morning and that has brought some strong ones but nothing consistant. I can't imagine going through what I was experiencing and birth not atleast being right around the corner. We'll see I guess. Just trying to stay positive and keep myself busy. Not that hard to do with my two girlies.
Update when I can.

Good luck! You can still turn the babe--do hands and knees and pelvic rocks, also see the spinningbabies.com site. posterior labor=no fun!!

I don't know what your providers say, but mine said to call them when I am at 4-1-1. Contrax 4min. apart from start to start, lasting 1min. or longer, for an hour or more. Good luck mama~

Well, it sounds like things are starting!! My labors do that a lot - start and stop and my contractions never get regular until I'm pushing. I pray that this is it for you!!

Thinking about you and hoping you're holding your sweet baby by now!!

Im not holding my sweet baby yet and it is making me cry. I really think I have been patient. It's a bit hard when family and friends won't stop calling. I know they are just excited but what can I do. Phone is now turned off, I just can't take it.
Things slowed to nothing durring the day yesterday. Started back up around 5pm and had good contrax about3 to 5 min. apart for a good long while. I was exhausted and know I could have gone for a walk or something but also know how important it is to listen to my body so DH and I got the girls settled early and were in bed by 8:30. I am not sure when I finally dozed off but the contrax continued in bed. I woke around 11:00 for a potty break but the waves had stopped. I did have a good amount of bloody show though. Now again around 3:20 am I find myself restless and anxious. Baby bean is moving around good in there so I feel confident that he/she is doing well. I hope I will be holding him or her soon.
Thank you all for the support. I need it! Sorry for getting everyone so excited. But those hurt so bad for so long I couldn't imagine that it would stop. I am sure it had something to with me and fear or one of the many psychological things that tend to stall labor.
BTW: I have been doing hands and knees constantly since apt. last week when I found out baby was now posterior. I do think the baby has turned some but still not in the best position. Come on baby, turn turn turn. :nut

Laurie (((HUGS)))
I really hope things move along for you. I know, it can be frustrating. First the contractions come, they hurt and you think it is time. I have been having this for awhile now. I am very tired, and very on edge. Just think we will look back on this.
Keep us updated. :)

Oh I'm so sorry! I've been in the same boat since last weekend--lots of false starts. It is really getting annoying!!! Come on babies!
Have you tried that rebozo trick on the spinning babies website? Hands and knees didn't work for me either with DS, but I didn't really know anything else to try. Luckily this baby has been LOA/ROA for weeks but I was thinking that the leaning down/lifting the belly with a sling might work better for those persistently posterior babies...

That is a great trick with the Rebozo. I have seen it work with many of my clients. Unfortunetly I forget how to help myself when I am pregnant :lol
Anyway my chiro was able to see me this morning before my MW apt. She worked long and hard and baby was ROA at apt. I am no longer discouraged. I allowed a vag. exam and am happy to report that I was not in pain for nothing :wink A good 3cm 70% effaced and babyat -1 station. Good hard contrax all day but no regulare pattern. So much worse than a pattern that is gradual and works up to harder. It just starts and whamo (Big Pain) MW and chiro said probably this weekend since having a good amount of bloody show. Just got to get theese babies regular.
Thank Everyone. Hope you are all making good progress too. :)
