how do you meal/plan cook, etc when you feel puky?

last time just went out to eat when i felt better, now i have a 3.5 year old and we live in the middle of nowhere. so going out isn't an option.

everytime i open a cookbook, NOT A SINGLE THING APPEALS TO ME and so i give up.

what do you do?

I can't remember what I did last time (except for sit around and cry)... but this time I have a 4 year old dd and while we used to make everything from scratch (think SLLLLOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWW food) and eat whole foods, now we spend the entire day in the playroom off the kitchen, me moaning on the couch, and grab whatever will go down from the cupboard (mostly white food, ugh). She snacks now instead of getting meals- yogurts, fruit leather, fruit, carrots, cereal, eggs... whatever is easy with little enough prep time to not make me puke :Puke

Dh comes home to a table and floor covered with cups, dishes from snacks, and me still on the couch. He then has to cook dd and himself dinner while I try to figure something out that will be remotely palatable. Last night I actually ate something green- guacomole and peas! Course now that makes me sick....

I actually went to the store today and bought mac and cheese... what's up with that? I was gluten free before this babe moved in.... and I never would have eaten that regardless.

DD has chicken pox :thumb so I haven't been able to go grocery shopping... dh is due home in an hour so we'll see if he brought any white food I can eat!

Good luck, mama!

sorry you are so sick mama, are you hydrated? trying to eat something every two hours? have you tried high doses of B-6?

if all else fails i would try some smoke.

I've been blessed with a husband who is a chef, so he makes all the meals. Last pregnancy I had zero nausea, but suddenly some has kicked in this time. I couldn't eat a thing last night from about 4pm onward.
He can't ask me "What do you want?" though - like you, NOTHING sounds good.

I feel for ya. I am having the hardest time meal planning/preparing. My dh is doing a lot more which means....more refined crap. But I just cant do it. I am pretty sick this time around. my stomach hurts sooo bad and vomit pretty much just sits in the back of my throat all day. its horrible.
hope we are all feeling better soon!
