...well, almost! They were discharged from the NICU last Wednesday, after we roomed in with them for four days. It originally looked like one might go home on oxygen, but she weaned off the last day. No medications or anything! We are staying in the area another two or three weeks while they go to their doctors' appointments (head ultrasound, vision test, etc.). But I will finally get to go home after that, for the first time in two months!!

They are breastfeeding really well, and I am trying to get the hang of tandem nursing. Also trying to wean them off of the nipple shields that made it possible to nurse them in the first place.

I REALLY will post some pictures one of these days. I don't have the equipment to do that at SIl's home, but will get my sister to do it on her computer. The pictures of them snuggling together are really cute!

Thanks again to all of you for your support :love ....

Yeah! :banana That is so awesome! They must be doing wonderfully... home before the rest of our March babies (and I'm due the first of March!) have even arrived. I hope the time flies before you truly get to go home!

Lurker here...

Congratulations on bringing them home. Bringing my daughter home from the NICU is one of the happiest memories I have. Soon you'll be able to snuggle your girls in the peaceful atmosphere of your own home. :love

Congrats!!

Sorry to butt in from the FEB DDC. My twins were born at 32 weeks and came home finally after 4 weeks in the NICU, so I feel for you! Tandam nursing gets easier each time for us. We just use a pillow and set in for a long relaxing feeding. Hopefully you get back to your home soon and can start settling in.
