I am soooooo tired and LAZY these days!
Today I got DD and myself up and we had breakfast. I cleaned up the dishes, unloaded the diswasher and folded some laundry. After that I was worthless!
I don't recall feeling this way with her, but then again I was also on bedrest and did nothing to GET tired.
I guess this is normal?

Not super tired, but noticably less good-for-anything LOL after cleaning for a little while or organizing, stuff that would normally be tiring, but not to the point of needing to chill in a chair with a glass of water... You know?

I feel worn out and lazy in every way....though I still seem to have energy when I really need it. Still, a little household stuff gets me longing for the couch, I have zero tolerance for any shenanigans when it comes to my sons, and I have less than zero motivation to play with them or dig into my patience reserves. :( I'm not a very pleasant mommy, recently. It has me totally bummed.
....and dh is getting the brunt end of my lack of emotional fortitude. I swear, over the last week or so it's gotten out of control! A rough day with the kids and if any little thing goes wrong...by the end of the night, I'm crying for a half hour non-stop. We had to cancel a date we had made two nights ago (a very RARE date opportunity fell through), and I was crying off and on all night. Poor guy doesn't know how to help.
You get MORE tired and frazzled with a newborn, right? That thought has me terrified. Dh says I'll feel so much better (emotionally, patience-wise, etc.) once I have my body back and I'm more physically able, but all I can think of is how crazy rought it's going to be to have a newborn AND two 4 year olds. :nut

Every chance I get to take a nap I'm there. So far usually once a day for about 1.5 hours.

I'm so glad you ladies are writing about this. I've started taking an iron pill everyday and that's helping a bit with my exhaustion and inability to feel oxygenated but man, I still need naps.
We're painting and converting my daughter's room to a two-girl bedroom. My husband's working overtime to buff up our savings for maternity leave so I've done the majority of the work. With a 4-year and 2 7-month old male cats, it's been an irritating task to say the least. It's been more than 5 times that the black cat has exited the room with a side full of paint. By the middle of the day, I'm grumpy and tired. Our poor daughter. She has a mom tired of working at home and a daddy tired of working at work.

Major exhaustion here too. I can get going, but by mid-morning, I'm pooped. I just feel the need to hole up at home, don't feel like going out or shopping or interacting that much right now - although this certainly makes the waiting seem longer! Maybe its an extension of nesting.
I'm just worried about developing bad habits for later, but I have to remind myself that my life isn't going to go back to the way it was before anyway, so some new life patterns are going to develop and that's ok.

Right on, awhuko, it is a temporary condition. This is my mantra as well.
Add me to the fatigue list. I do OK till mid-afternoon, then I feel like I've been run over by a Mack truck. I hate feeling so worthless, especially when I still have so many tasks left to do. Sigh.

Me too! I haven't needed naps since the first trimester, but yesterday around 3:00 I felt completely exhausted and HAD to lay down and nap for an hour. I felt much better after.
I have been doing a bit of nesting, but I think it's just that my body gets tired after 6 or 7 hours of lumbering around with my big belly.
I am glad to hear that others are back to needing naps, and that I'm not just being lazy. OK, maybe I am also a bit lazy, but I think there is a difference between the times when I don't feel like doing anything (lazy) and needing to sleep (exhausted). :innocent

I have been doing pretty good actually, this is usually the time where I start feeling lazy but not this time. I have been really motivated to do cleaning and cooking and spending time with the kids. I have also been in really good spirits lately. I'll send some fairy dust to help everyone perk up in the energy department :dust
However I am ready for bed by around 7 or so, the last hour of the night until the kids go to bed feels like an eternity!!!

I still have some energy these days, but after a few hours of organizing clutter or spring cleaning, I'm pretty wiped out for a while. I haven't needed naps since the beginning of my second trimester, but close to bedtime I feel like a zombie. Then, strangely, I'll feel more energetic after 10:30 p.m. or so and want to get more stuff done. :shrug
More than anything, I'm feeling edgy a lot. It's mainly due to stress because I have some customer projects I REALLY want to get done before the baby arrives and I'm cutting it close. Plus, I still have lots of reorganizing to do on the spare bedroom, more baby books to read, and I have to pick a stupid doctor for the baby. :( (That's got me really edgy because I want to delay vaxes and I have so little faith that I'll find a doctor that won't give me crap for my decision.) And the cat is driving me crazy. :irked:
Part of me wants the baby to arrive SOON, but the other part of me wants more time to prepare and de-stress!!

i didn't think i was tired until i lay down on the couch then there's no doing anything else (glad i have olympics to watch because i'm not a tv watcher but right now it's all i want to do). Luckily my husband is super sweet and brings me all that i need.
It's good to hear that i'm not alone....
cheers,

Mine too! Maybe he knows something's up! The minute I sit down, he's eating plants, scratching furniture, and begging to go through any door that's closed. I have to heave myself back up and chase the fat thing around the house just to get some peace.

What is with these cats?? One of ours has been suddenly following me around all day, then last night I tried to lay down for a quick nap while DH and dd were in the living room. That nap didn't really happen because the cat wanted to be THISCLOSE to my face. I put her off the bed 4-5 times then finally gave up on sleeping. I'm not due for another month but I seriously just want to sleep all day. My iron levels are great and I'm eating well so I don't know what the deal is. Maybe its waddling around with a baby feeling like he's about to fall out (he is REALLY low), and trying to keep up with my toddler...:lol

Ladies!! I'm so glad I'm not the only with a cat issue! I have two male cats--they're only 8 months old and they are driving me nuts! On the other hand, so if my husband, my daughter, my boss, my friends, and my extended family...maybe it's just me.:p I'm just so short tempered right now. All I want to do is sleep and eat Girl Scout Cookies.

Add me to the exhausted list! The thing is, I am on bedrest! I am soooo tired the past two days though. My mom said that I have bags under my eyes too. Weird. I guess I am too lazy now. This worries me for after the baby comes.

I am so tired. I have been sleeping for like 9-11 hours a day too. I am still working, and in school, so I have to keep going! At least everyone is supportive and cuts me some slack. :) Little things like washing dishes, baking cookies, and vaccuming makes me exhausted.

definitely tired and i sleep at least 12 hours each night, well not the whole night thanks to being uncomfy and getting up to pee every 1-2 hours, but still.
i think having a 3 yo definitely adds to the mix. it was so much easier when i could nap whenever i wanted to with the first pregnancy!! though it has been amazing sharing this experience with her.

I have only been sleeping about 6 hours a night, but now I am DONE with work! Woohoo, I get to nap whenever I want to. :D Yesterday I catnapped all morning, slept for an hour in the car, then took a 45 minute nap before dinner. Mmmm. Feels great. (Of course now I am awake at 1:30am!)
