My water broke

hey all....

It's 2:00 in the morning here, dh is sleeping, and I can't sleep. Just too restless and achey. My water broke at 11:30 this evening, just as I was getting into bed. This labor, so far, is so much like the last one....HUGE gush of fluid, then tiny little contractions that seem to go nowhere. I just need to give my body some time. Might try out the treadmill (though I wouldn't want to get amniotic fluid on it! :lol )

The gushing has stopped, and I can tell he's wondering what's up with the smaller womb-quarters. His kicks have so much less padding now!~ ouch!

Anyway, I figure I'll just pace around all night, snacking on high complex carb stuff, and wait for this to go somewhere. With that much fluid coming out (WELL over a pint, maybe two), I know this'll be going somewhere soon.

Still waiting for things to really get going...I was up for several hours last night. Finished a quilt, brewed my 1 oz. of RRL tea (:lol waiting until the hospital to drink it, though), then tried to sleep sitting down. Ended up sleeping for a couple hours up in bed.

Now that it's morning I think I need to get serious about encouraging contractions. Slippery or not, I'm heading for the treadmill. I'm getting strong contractions every 8-9 minutes, but I want them to be at least 4-5 minutes apart before we head toward the hospital.

I can't believe this happened! I was so sure it would be another week!
