Because of the 'Vogelgrippe', we have stopped consuming poultry, but will probably soon stop consuming eggs as well. Since cakes, cookies, pancakes and such all call for eggs, this will be a hard sacrifice.
I remember seeing something somewhere (was it a bio shop?) that there is a product that replaces eggs, but don't remember what it was called (and hence can't order it from the local BIO shop because they think I'm nuts for wanting such a product).
Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

Hey sweetie! I keep thinking of you and wanted to pm you to see how you are. I don't know where you can get egg replacer in Germany but I have a box of Orgran No Egg Natural egg replacer equal to 66 eggs unopened that I purchased when I was considering going vegan. The mover's packed it. PM me your address and I will send it off on Tuesday. (or tomorrow if you get back to me). It is an Australian product from www.orgran.com It is a division of Roma Food Products. There are several languages on here so I'm sure if you go to the website or take it to a bioladen you will be able to get it.
Hope you and the belly are doing well. Victoria :-)

Oh yeah, another thing.... Flax seed can be used as an egg replacer in baked goods. Ask on the health and nutrition board or do a search over there. I've seen it. I have an open bag of flax seed meal and I'm checking it out....trying not to pour it on the keyboard...willing ds not to wake up yet...nope, directions to use it to replace shorning but not eggs. Anyway try the other board, you will probably have an answer in an hour or less. vic:-)
Hollycrand,
they sell egg replacer at the Reformhaus. There are two kinds, one that replaces the egg whites only and one that replaces the entire egg.
Good luck,
Beate

Thanks for the flaxseed advice, and for the Reformhaus tip. The reformhaus in our little 'neighbourhood' doesn't carry it, but I've ordered it from a BIO shop (and even there the staff weren't really up to par as to what it was).
I've since been using flaxseed for various things (pancakes, waffles, a cake) and it's been okay. The pancakes seem heavier somehow though, and I usually need to add more liquid (in spite of the fact I dissolve the 1 TBL flaxseed in 3 TBL water for one minute).
