Mine is scheduled for March 23rd too!!! 10:15 a.m. :thumb

I am really hoping we can find out the sex!

I have already had 3 :blush because they couldnt find the heartbeat at 11 weeks and yesterday at 15 weeks. The Dr was just too lazy to try. He made me MAD but i am not gonna dwell on him being a jerk and rejioce in the fact that i saw my precious little baby and the HB was fine! 142 bpm

Can I just say how incredibly jealous I am of y'all? :lol I have to keep reminding myself that I'm not due until the end of the month, so most of you are going to hit milestones before I do!

Nope, no u/s scheduled yet. I'm guessing at my next appointment we'll schedule it...my next appt is the 14th. I want to find out the sex too!

Yup! April 4, here we come! We can't wait to find out the gender... and if we could, we'd probably find out the eye color, fingerprints and favorite movie. We're just not interested in surprises, really. :D

We have our 2nd one on March 22nd. We had one on 2/14 because the midwife couldn't hear the heartbeat. But everything is fine!

It looks like I'm the only one so far that does not want to know the sex. I don't know why we decided it, but I think it will be fun to wait until the baby is born!

You're not the only one. But we also don't do ultrasounds unless there's some extreme medical reason. But even if we did, we'd want it to be a surprise too.

I have an ultrasound scheduled for March 21st. I had one a couple weeks ago because of a problem, so this is just to monitor that. If it was a regular 20w u/s, I would decline. We do hope to find out the gender, but I am 99% sure anyways.

March 15th for ours. It is purely to see if there are genetic abnormalities because we have had a trisomy 9 baby. We won't be finding out the sex though :)

Mine is next Tuesday (2/28)...mostly because my midwife wants to find out whether there are 1 or 2 babies in there (gulp)! I'll be somewhere between 15-17 weeks...so I'm hoping we'll be able to find out the sex too...we'll see.

My doctor wants to wait until 20!! weeks to find out the sex, when most OB's tell you at 16. I have to wait until April for my gender determining appt. Wah. :(

Our u/s is schedualed for March 15, we're hoping to find out the sex. U/S is the only test we do. I figure if theres something horribly wrong the u/s will pick it up

Mine is April 27th. I'll be 23 weeks at that point. My midwife's office only does them on Thursday mornings, so I had to make sure it was a day I was off. I get off at 9 am that morning, then we'll drive over for the ultrasound after that.

I don't want to find out the gender, either. In fact, that's my biggest fear about the ultrasound....the ultrasonographer will forget to tell us to turn our heads, and it'll be clear as day. Let's hope not.

We have one scheduled for tomorrow at 18w. I hope it is our last.

We are going to check on my ovarian cyst. I am totally petrified that it has gotten bigger.

My MW told me today that if you have an u/s done at 18 weeks you can't recognize the gender yet- it has to be over 20 weeks. Has anyone else been told the same thing?

everything I've ever been told, or read, about gender is that you can pretty much tell after 16 weeks. I'm definitley no expert though.....anyone else?

the_lissa

You can definitely see it at 18 weeks. We saw it at 18 weeks with my dd.

With good equipment and a good tech, you can see it as early as 14 weeks, I've read. I am pretty sure we saw girl bits during an u/s at 15 weeks.

My next MW appointment is this Tuesday and we will schedule an u/s then. I am 18 weeks as of this Saturday, and we are planning to find out if we can. I am such a PLANNER!

My dr told me 15.5 weeks is about the earliest you can tell. We saw ds parts at 17 weeks very clearly. This time, though, we're waiting until 20w for the u/s.

March 6 is mine. 5 days! I will definately update this thread (edd Aug 1). We were debating back and forth about finding out or not. I really want to find out because I am impatient...and DH will definately be able to tell if its a boy or girl-he has a developmental biology background. I don't he would turn his head away.

FWIW, I had an U/S during my 14th week and it was too early to tell.

We usually recommend people go for scans 18-22 wks if they are going to go. It is possible to find out earlier but you're more likely for them to need to do an additional one due to fetal positioning, size, etc if you go before 18 wks. Just depends on who is doing it, how good the machine is, etc. I always say, if you want to know the sex, wait as long as you can!

YAY YAY YAY !!!! :jumpers:

I just called my doc, because all you ladies were making me super jealous! The receptionist said they should have scheduled my u/s for my next appointment. SO she changed my appt on the 14th to the 16th, and I get my u/s then! I'm soooo thrilled...I can't wait to see this baby! I really want to find out the gender if possible, but even if not I'm really excited to see the baby :)

Plus, I'm glad I called...this way I only have to take off work once this month, if I had gone to my appt on the 14th I would have had to take off twice.

Its a girl. As expected, DH said "hey,is that 3 lines" and the tech says "yeah, thats what your supposed to see!". Our tech was a sweetie, just finishing up her ultrasound degree.

Baby girl kept crossing her legs (is this really our kid? So Modest!! :lol), and the cord was in the way. Its not 100% confirmed-but the two ultrasound techs and DH saw the "three lines" and no penis. MIL is in denial and is still hoping for a boy...

Now Im just praying everything looks good, have dr's appt on the 21st. You never stop worrying...

Mine is scheduled for the 27th. Get to find out whether the babe has his sister's genetic disorder, and I'm quite scared for the outcome, because it's a fatal one :( and it has a 25% chance of recurrence.

So send me good luck vibes! I feel really relaxed and positive about things being fine in there, so if mama's intuition is worth pence, we should be fine. :)
