I have also posted this in the "Life with a Babe" forum, I do not know how to cross post so I just copied/pasted. I'd appreciate any info you might have! Danke!!
Hello German mamas or mamas living in Germany!! I have a question for you about some German baby food. My husband has to go to the Frankfurt area for work about 4 times per year and he usually brings home some German goodies for us. The last time he went, he brought back some baby food he thought was interesting/unusual! There is one kind that I am curious about.
The brand name is "Hipp" and the name of the food is "Gute Nacht Brei - Babykeks". I speak German somewhat well but not the best at food stuff really... anyway from what I saw on the label it is basically cookies and milk! Or biscuits and milk. But the milk listed was "Folgemilch". I did some looking around online and the translation was "subsequent" milk? Is that like a follow up formula? I guess I don't understand what formulas there are in Germany or if the term formula is used at all. From the list of ingredients it looks like it's whole milk with sugar, starch and vitamins.
If anyone can help me understand this, I would really appreciate it! It's kinda interesting actually.
