VBAC in Nebraska?

Anyone VBAC in Nebraska?

Where in Nebraska are you? I'm in Lincoln and have an OB who is very pro-VBAC. Thanks to him, I did not have a c-section with DS, though many OBs would have given me one. I am very confident that if you had him as your OB and it was possible for you to VBAC, you would do so successfully.

I'm not there yat, but I'll be at Offutt prior to having the baby. We move in June and I think I'm due sometime in October. Anywhere close to you?

You'll be about an hour (mostly via interstate) from where my doctor is and where I will be giving birth.

That is not too far! Phew. So there are options! I just may have to drive a little!

That is so relieving! I had heard that Ne was one of the worst states to try to VBAC in. It is rare indeed to find a pro VBAC doc!

After the CS, how did you feel about your VBAC?
How was the recovery? I just imagine it being so much faster...
Did you have more pain at the scar site than elsewhere?
Were you scared of rupture at any point in time?
How long was your labor?
Do they have waterbirth facilities?

Offutt is near Omaha, correct? The midwives (and docs) at UNMC will take VBAC's. I got a wonderful email from them earlier in the year and it sounded very promising.

Yeah, you can find doulas online that are in Omaha and I'm sure they can tell you which docs and facilities are the most VBAC friendly. I know the hospital my OB is affiliated with in Lincoln has waterbirth tubs in EVERY room and encourages natural birth. It may be a hospital, but I think they operate much like a birth center.
