Hi all. I am planning to start training to be a CPM when my military enlistment is up. I still have two years left, enough to get my Bachelor's, since I already have my Associate's (in Human Resource Management). I don't want to do nursing (I don't think I'd pass), but I'm considering an AS nursing program if there's nothing else available. I want to do something that will help me as a midwife. Does anyone have any ideas as to what kind of degree would help me as a CPM?

There are degree programs that also prepare you for a CPM. I'm in an Associate's program through National College of Midwifery. You can find links to that program and others through http://www.meacschools.org/. If you're looking for a degree and you want to be a CPM it makes sense to do one of those programs for the basic educational components and the midwifery education and clinical requirements rolled into it. To get the degree you need to finish the school work and get your NARM requirements finish, along with passing the NARM test.

Miami Dade Community College in Florida has a Licensed Midwifery Associates Degree. We take the NARM as our state boards and can apply for CPM as well as our state LM. A Florida license is one of te most stringent and will transfer with reciprocity anywhere in the USA where Direct entry Midwifery is legal.
