I found this site today after searching homebirth and natural mothering. I love it already!!!!
A little about myself. I apprenticed as a midwife for 7 years before getting married. Dh is a firefighter/paramedic so wasnt' so thrilled with the homebirth idea......until he saw our hospital births!!!! So, I'm now almost due with baby #6 for us and greatly anticipating our 1st birthing home birth!!!! We opted to go ahead and proceed with the birthing home for the sheer convenience it offered for us and the incredible birthing tubs!!!!! It's a little 2 bdrm home that's been converted into a birthing home so it's an incredibly peaceful enviroment w/o all of the hospital interventions.
Our other 5 children are boy-8, girl-5, girl-3 and twin boys-17 months.
I've loved reading through everyone's posts and look forward to posting some more.
