I had my first son vaginally but they had to break his collarbone to get him out. The dr said he was large for gestational age and his shoulders were broad so that's why he was so wedged in there. He weighed 8lbs 10.5ozs.

I dont know why I'm even considering a VBAC a possibility since I've had 2 csections (2nd baby was 9lbs1oz,3rd was 8lbs 4.8ozs) but for some reason I'm holding out hope that this little guy will be smaller or possibly come around 37 wks so a vag delivery is possible.

My OB isnt thrilled about it considering he's the one who delivered my 1st son but I think if I pushed he would go along with it. I am just wondering if anyone here has gone thru labor/delivery successful after having c sections. So far all I've heard is scary stuff about uterine rupture being more of an issue if you have had multiple c section.

I am freaked out about having another c section considering that the dr who delivered Alissa cut her during the delivery. She has a scar on her face for the rest of her life due to a botched section. I know it could have been worse and that is what freaks me out..what could have been ya know. I would love to avoid surgery all together and just have a natural vag delivery with no complications. Am I dreaming or is this even possible? Thanks in advance for your replies!

ETA* I had the bikini cut incision outside/inside for my c sections.

I haven't done it yet, but I'm planning on having a VBA2C with my next pregnancy. I've heard a lot of stories about good outcomes.

Shawna, I had a VBAC after 3 sections and am planning another for October. I would encourage you to do some research and really make an informed decision. Don't just rely on your doctor's word. You need to learn as much as you can and then search your heart as to whether you think you can pull it off.

I wish you well and if you have any specific questions, there are a bunch of us here :-)

Hi ladies,

I'm still rather new to the boards, and I just stumbled upon this post! I've had two c/s, and am pg with #3 (due in October). I'm in NC, and here, the ONLY way to seemingly have a VBA2C is with an "illegal" homebirth. My husband is not keen on the idea (I mean, truly, you hear enough, "You'll kill your baby! You'll die from uterine rupture!"... the man is bound to be a little nervous!).

I believe that here, I have NO options! It's only a c/s. For those of you with the option, I think it is wonderful!

Do you have someone who will perform it? Are you in a state that allows for homebirth/VBAC options?!?! I would love to hear what's out there.

Thanks,
Natalie

Oh, ME, ME I've had a HBA2C!!!
The only way I was getting a vaginal birth was at home!
I'm too tired to post much more tonight, but ask away... I'll be sure to get you an answer tomorrow or Friday.

i did, this last Jan. but my doc was no help. i had to find a MW and birth at a birth center. ds1 was 8.12 and ds2 was 8.11. ds3 (born this Jan) was 8.4, so not too much smaller. my MW had me cut out lost of junk from my diet to keep his weight healthy (she wasnt concerned that he woudl be too big, but that was a fear i had). all i cut out was sugar and processed foods. that may have been the reason he was a bit smaller, but i dont know.
the VBA2CS is scarey b/c everyone is telling you that you cant do it (including youself) but you really can, if your health is good. i was over 35 so they considered me high risk and about to die if i gave birth (being a bit sarcastic here). i had a very long labor, but thats what i do...my labors were always long...but in the end, we had no drugs and it is awesome to be able to say that.
good luck!

I believe that here, I have NO options! It's only a c/s. For those of you with the option, I think it is wonderful!

You do actually have the option of a hospital VBA2C no matter what your doctor tells you. No hospital can legally turn away a woman in hard labor and no doctor can perform surgery without consent. If they do, you can have them charged with criminal assault.

HI Shawna! Glad you made it over from SC! :D

I just wanted to lend my encouragement and support again. As you can see in my siggy, I'm going for a VBA4C!!! lol And I am truly confident I can do it. :)

Remember, dr.s aren't Gods, and an OB is a surgeon first and foremost. I agree with thh above posters...read, read, read and ask lots of questions here. :)
