Thanks for all the support from everyone! I`m very excited about being pregnant and the baby I`m about to bring into this world. I know its going to be very hard on me because of my age, but I`m going to try and be the best mother I can be. I have a wonderful family and wonderful friends that will be here for me no matter what. I am going to live at home with my family, and a few months after the baby is born, I plan on getting my G.E.D, my drivers license and hopefully a decent job. I`m home schooled, and have been my whole life, so I have a good education. I also have alot of stress on me right now because of the father, I thought he was a great guy when I met him, we have known each other just about a year now. We never planned on getting pregnant, it just kind of happened. The night that I got pregnant, we got into a fight because I was talking with my friend and he left. He did come back, and thats when he stayed and everything happened. But after that night, I rarely heard from him anymore. And after a couple of weeks, the calls just stopped coming. About a week after that is when I found out I was pregnant, and I kept calling him, over and over. And just so everyone knows, he lives in upstate New York, so its hard me being in Maryland and him being up there. But anyways, I got a friend to get ahold of him and he told him that I was pregnant, and he was basically shocked. And after that the calls started coming again. And now, about three months later..I still barely talk to him, maybe once every two weeks. I have given up on him, there is really nothing else I can do. I love him to death, but I just cant put up with this anymore, all I hope is that he will be more to this baby than just a paycheck. I hope hes atleast that decent. I have already had a few problems with the pregnancy, when I was about 6 weeks along, they thought that the baby didnt make it to the uterus and was still in the tube. I was upset because I didnt want to lose this baby, so they sent me for a STAT ultrasound, and thankfully, everything was fine. And then the heartbeat was low, so they had me back a week later, and thankfully again, the heartbeat was up. Everything was fine up until about a month ago, I had some bleeding and I went to the Emeregency Room, and then thankfully again, everything was fine, and I did get an ultrasound picture of my beautiful child's face. March 9th is when I go back to the docters, and soon after that I should find out my baby's sex. So, today I am 19 weeks and 2 days and everything is going great, I have even felt my baby move! And again, thank you all so much for the support! I will keep updating.

Hi, and welcome Jenna! :D Sorry to hear that you've had some difficulty but sounds like everything is well and it will be exciting to find out the sex! Do you have any predictions?
I also wanted to mention that there is a discussion forum at http://www.girlmom.com that you might find interesting. Its geared towards young moms and you might find a nice support system there from other moms your same age dealing with the same issues you will be facing.
It sounds like you have a great family! Thats awesome! :)

I'm sorry to hear that the father isn't who you thought he was! Great to hear that your family is so supportive ... that always makes up for a lot when other areas of your life are a bit lacking! How did you find MDC? There are a number of other younger moms here too ... or some who were about your age with their first. I look forward to getting to know you.

Hi Jenna,
I had my first baby when I was 17. It was a very lonely time for me. If you need someone to talk to who has been there, my email is whisperingearth@earthlink.net Half the people I knew (including the babys father) wanted me to get an abortion and the other half wanted me to give the baby up for adoption. Nobody EVER talked to me about keeping my baby. Luckly I am a very stuborn person and I did keep him and he is now 15 and upstairs homeschooling. I could not imagine my life without him.
I have been married to a great man for 9 years and we have 2 other children together plus one on the way. I meet him when I was a single mom and my son was about 4 years old.
I am 33 years old now and have made thousands of parenting mistakes...however the best thing I ever did in life was to have my son - at age 17.
If you need or want to talk, I am here for you.
Hang in there!!

I'm not sure if the fact that I could be your mother makes you seem young, or me seem old.:lol Unfortunately, I think it's the latter.
Congrats on your upcoming babe. I'm so glad you have such a good support system. It doesn't matter who it is, but what they do to help you that counts. Enjoy the next 5 months, they will fly by fast.:love

Welcome!
Man I wish I had found this board when I was 16! You are headed for a great pregnancy and parenthood experience if you keep hanging around here... hopefully you get around to checking out the Life With a Babe, Family Bed and Gentle Discipline areas too!
(oooh, and the Case Against Circumcision area if you are having a boy...)
Happy reading!

Welcome Jenna! I'm 20. I was 16 when I had my son, so I know how you're feeling! I stuck around with my son's father *way* too long, thinking I could make it work (even though I knew we weren't meant to be together). I think it's really hard to give up that idea of a little family (mom/dad/family). It was the best thing I ever did though! :lol
Anyway, I'm in upstate NY, can I find this guy and beat him up a little? :P Just kidding, welcome to the group and definitely read around the forums a bit. There's *soo* much good information on here!
