This has been a very bad week. I am sorry I haven't written much. A good friend of mine who is due in late March just found out that her unborn son has a fatal genetic disorder.:crying He has three copies of chromosone 18, a condition known as trisomy 18. We are currently helping with getting clothing together for his funeral.

This whole mess has me very upset. We were happy because Goo and her child were going to be fairly close in age (less than a year apart). I've been holding Goo a little more tightly the past few days. She is so precious to me, I can't imagine her funeral, but now I am! I think I am transfering my pain of hearing this news to the fear that Goo will be hurt.

How do I control this transfer? It isn't good for her or me to feel this way.

Sigh... Bad bad bad week.

How awful for them and for you. Pynki, a friend of mine here on the boards and IRL just had a friend whose ds died from the same thing. They didn't know in advance. I can't imagine how awful it must be. Hold your child close, but realize that some things are simply beyond our control. I know how hard that is, after all, I'm on meds for depression and anxiety. I will keep them in my prayers, and if you would like, I'm sure Pynki wouldn't mind a PM if you would like more information about what her friend went through.
