This might be TMI - don't know

So I have been getting these weird light cramping like sensations that I can only describe as pinching. They don't really hurt but do cause a little bit of worry and discomfort. Some of them are very very short and some of them are longer but none really last more than a minute. Most of the time they only happen when I am sitting but I get them when I am standing up too...

Now here is the weird part most of the time it feels like it is comming from my cervix although I do get them all over my belly the majority of the time they feel like (as my husband puts it) my 'cervix is exploding' although that is quite the exageration.

Well, I had a theroy that I might just have a very active baby.. but that was blown away by a co worker who told me that you can see when a baby kicks and you can tell the differnace .. or something like that...

I want to go to the doctor considering that the last time I went I learned nothing but am in the processs of finding another one.. so that is not an option for about a week... so I thought I would ask you guys.

Any ideas?

Well the light pinching/cramping thing sounds very similiar to ligament pain...caused from the ligamets stretching. Perfectly normal, if that is the case. Sometimes they can seem a bit much...but harmless.
The cervix exploding business... sounds pretty normal too... I swore two of my four pregnancies, the baby was trying to reach out and grab someone. A swift kick to the cervix can be quiet surprising. Your co-worker was only partly right...sure you can see baby movements from the outside... but that isn't some kind of "active baby only" rule. Those swift kicks to the cervix or cervical dancing wouldn't be seen from the outside.
Expect a lot of well meaning "advice" from people in real life.. everyone who sees a pregnant woman ... has a million lines about "how it will be".
If you are still concerned find a midwife or someone you can run all this by... but from what you typed it sounds like you average run of the mill pregnancy stuff.

I'm getting all sorts of new & unusual pains, pnching, tuggling, pulling sensations in that region too. It's all so different than anything I've ever felt before! My midwives assure me that it's all totally normal & everything's just changing.

At this early stage, I would think it would be pretty unusual to see any baby movement from the outside... @ 18 weeks, my baby is only about 8 inches long & 7 ounces & there's a lot of uterus & other tissue between baby & the outside.

I also think it would be unusual to see baby movement this early on...some people aren't even FEELING movement from the INSIDE. I know I can't quite tell yet and it is my own body! But I do have millions of weird cramping, pinching, tugging sensations sometimes in what feels like my vaginal canal, sometimes in the uterus, the muscles on the side.
It seems all in the realm of normal. I hope :innocent , being preg for the first time I am figuring out as I go but my instinct is that it is no big deal. If it worries you though, I would follow that up.

I'm so glad you posted this, because I've been having pinching pains on one side and I was really starting to wonder. Makes sense for me that it's a ligament stretching...it's right where I'm expanding! I agree, how in the world would we see the baby kicking right now? They are so tiny, I haven't even felt kicks yet from the inside, and those that have described them as flutters.

I had pinching pains for the last 2 days. Then my mom sees my tummy last night and says, "you're showing!". It's quite funny, nothing and in 2 days my tummy just starts to stick out enough to notice!

Ah, the little uterus pulling sensations suck. I can almost feel the stretch marks coming on. eek!
