According to the 20 wk u/s, this babe is a boy. I cannot settle on a name that I LOVE & it's driving me bonkers. With my Dd's, I had names early on that I just knew were the perfect names for them, today I had a thought....what if the u/s tech was mistaken & this babe is a girl? That would explain why I can't find a name that feels right, kwim? Time will tell...but what if it *is* a boy & I can't find something that "feels right?"

I really like Samual, but Dp hates it. This is tricky...but I don't think he & I are going to remain together, we haven't been getting along for a long time & we have talked about it & both are fine with that decision. So, can I name the babe 'Samual' even if he hates it? Is that wrong? FWIW, he has pulled some unbelievable stunts throughout our relationship, for instance, days before I found out I was pregnant this past summer, he confessed that he had a child with someone else who will be 4 yrs old this month :angry (we've been together for 9 yrs & have 2 Dd's.)

Okay, you read this thinking it was just a name thread & look what you ended up with! LOL! :lol

I think if you really like Samual, you should go for it.
Good Luck with your name choices.

I love the name Sam (one of my favorite cousins is a "Sam"), and I especially love the spelling you have chosen.

Good luck with coming to a decision; it is a tough one, isn't it? DH and I have had names picked out since we were 16 years old, but even so it is tough to "commit" to one . . . sometimes I feel as if it is too big a responsibility, to choose someone else's NAME. :D

We havent come up with one either...but what has worked for our other three is wait till you see the babe...names we had in mind when the baby was in womb are not the names our kids have becuase they just didnt "fit". Read through names..have ideas, but dont worry about settling on one till after baby is born. I think it took us 4 days AFTER our youngest was born before we knew for sure what her name was. no worries.

Have you thought about names that are close in sound or spelling to Samual? I really wantd my oldest dd to have the middle name Ruth, but dh hated it. We kept looking, and found Rivka (which honors my Jewis heritage) and we both loved it!

Maybe Saul?
Soloman?
going ou on a limb here...Samson?
