Modern Baby Furniture???

Hey, I was wondering if any of you mamas could give a new and very inexperienced mama to be (me) a hint on where to get cute modern furniture and baby gear for less than insanely expensive. I've been looking at sites and some places want $2,000 for a modern crib!! I don't want old fuddy duddy cheap stuff, but I can't spend a fortune either. Any ideas??

Try a baby to baby store (resale). You can find a brand name crib or even a matching set for 1/2 price. Sometimes it's brand new furniture (my neighbor got to crib sets and sent one to the local consignment store because they are no return cribs). So you never know what deal you might run into there. Also, alot of time it's barely used furniture that someone people just want it out because it's hogging space. KWIM Maybe try Ebay. Hope that helps.

Target. Really. Their stuff is nice and cheap. Just don't get a dresser with the cardboard drawer bottoms. :bang

I'd skip the crib altogether. We had one (really cute!) and it never even got put together till the kid was a year old. :) All it did was take up SPACE!

We bought a hammock, which we did use, from Amby Baby. And a car seat.

But that was about it. :lol Really, you don't need even a tenth of the "stuff" that people seem to think is necessary for a baby.

We got a really nice crib from Sears for 100 bucks. We never used it and ended up selling it for 75 bucks.
