So last night as I was laying on the couch I noticed that the outside edge of my left breast was sore to the touch. And as of today the whole thing is incredibly tender. Feels like it is bruised. The other one is perfectly fine! Theres nothing 'coming out' yet. So, is this a normal feeling when you are gearing up for lactation and is there something I can safely do to relieve the soreness? Heating pad, arnica, etc....

My breasts seem to always hurt and not always at the same time - it does sound normal to me. I know after I had Nathan I was able to use a heating pad and an ice pack so I'd imagine you can use one prior to birth but I'd look that up first. :thumb

Do you wear underwire? When I do I sometimes get a sore breast (not necessarily both of them). That's why I have switched to a non-wire bra permanently. I have no idea if this is worse during PGcy or not, I haven't worn an wired bra in 4 years.

I gave up underwire a while ago. Just couldn't find anything that fit right. In fact most days I don't wear a bra, but when I do its a really well fitting supportive moulded sportsbra (not the type that flatten and squish) and I love it.
If it makes any sense- when I try squeezing my b00bs the left one feels harder than the right. Perhaps its all my mammaries kicking into gear. They feel unusually warm too.

Warmth can be a sign of swelling. It may be something you want to call your m/w about. I know what you mean about not wearing a bra. If I'm at home mine is the first thing that comes off!
