Please Vote!
Also,
add any suggestions for a better name.
We are 2 friends. Both of us have 4 children. I am a nurse. We both are midwifery students. We live in a county with NO birth centers (we will have the only one after we graduate). We are both certified doulas and CBE, are mature in age I am 33 she is 40. We live on Space coast(east coast) central florida. We are very crunchy, she is a dead head hippie :) !!

When I hear "A Nature's Way" I immediately think of the organic tree care service in my area that has a very similar name. :lol
I think that having the word "better" in the name is too charged and personal (some women think a "better birth" is to be numbed from the waist down and talk about sports during 2nd stage labor. :eyesroll)
I like "Loving Start Birth Services."

I'm a romantic, I like "Loving Start" too! But i like the word "Nature" in there, implies that you follow that philosophy of natural birth not needing fixing... maybe something like "Natural Start" (but is also charged if you plan to work with "prepared" couples), or "Nature's Hand", implying just the helping hand of the doula/midwife as opposed to obstetrical tools? Good for you for getting this going in your area. We need pioneers everywhere! Go mama! Hey maybe you could call it "Go, Mama!" You know, this is totally out of left field but I like "Artemis on Call" too. Ok I'll stop now... :lol Best of luck

ITA--bookgoddess's suggestion is nice. I too voted for "A Helping Tradition", maybe it could be tweaked to fit one or two of the other fave words.
Best of luck in your doula/MW journey:D

I'm trying to think of names that would have attracted me, but I'm not sure of the wording. Forgive me as I brainstorm, but add "Doula Service" to the end of each of these.
An Empowered Birth
Birth Empowerment
Strong and Healthy Birth
Nurturing Birth
Birthwise
Womanwise Birth
Birthing with wisdom
Ack. Something like these.

What great idea you al have. I have been, and have all my friends and family, brainstorming about the same thing. I am only looking at starting my own Doula services right now but eventually also want to go into midwifery so I also want to find something that I can keep and carry with me anywhere.
Good luck to you!! :)

I didn't vote...'cause so many great brainstorming ideas have blossomed in the thread! I think it's a great idea to include "better" or "best" or something like that, to underscore how DIFFERENT your practice will be than the Standard Hospital Birth that is the only choice in your area.
I like names like "loving tradition" and whatever, and I think that's nice, but from a marketing angle, to differentiate yourself and accurately describe your services--which ARE SUPERIOR to the "choices" in your community, go ahead and get elitist!!!

By Your Side, Better (or Natural) Birth Services (slogan "By Your Side, for a better birth")
A Loving Start, Natural Birth Services ("A Loving Start: It's nature's way.")
Better Beginnings, Natural Birth Services
Natural Beginnings Birth Services
It's All About Better Birth, Natural Birth Services
Better Birth Options ("Offering you a natural start.")
Welcoming Hands (<-- sounds more like midwifery services and less like CBE/Doula)
Nature's Way Birthing Services (Again, less like CBE, at least in my opinion)
I like the first two most (and the slogan on the first). Do be sure to run a google search on your favorite - you'd be surprised how hard it can be to find an unused name. ("First or Fifth" I know is being or has been used by about half a dozen people/groups.)
Speaking of, "A Loving Start" is already in use by a homebirth practice (rats). I didn't find a "By Your Side", though. :)
