I'm in labor

We're at the birthing center and all settled in. I'm so glad my mw has the internet. I've had show and contractions since Friday and my water broke at 11:oo this morning. I'm excited-this is going to be fun. the contractions take concentration,but are not like pit ones.

I am lurking from april , had noticed in the tribe area you live near me how crazy i didn't think there was anyone who lived in or around franklin/coffee county like i do!!

:heartbeat My little girl was born at 1:41am yesterday. Labor was loving, exciting and fun. From 11:00am to 11:00 pm I had contractions every 4 or 5 min and dialated from 3-5 cm) played with the kids and hung out chatting with my midwife, Elaine, and husband. I cooked dinner for everyone and decided to put the children down for bed so that I could have the baby( we had planned for the children to be there, but my needs were different for labor) I went to the bedroom and danced alone through about 3 contractions and told my mw I was 5 cm and ready for the tub. She wanted to check me (very unpleasant) and I was 5cm and was allowed in the tub. I felt every contraction as very heavy and low pushing down my baby and kept my bottom loose and wide. I thought this through every contraction and felt no pain. My dh held me as I relaxed into him and I was so peaceful, calm, and content. We kissed and talked between them. I became very dreamy and high and looked at my mw and said I think I'm in transition. She said she couldn't tell anything with me so she'd like to check me. I could have said no, but I got out of the tub (no fun) and got on the bed. I was 7cm and the was engaged,but still kinda high. I know that once you're at seven, the contractions don't get any more intense and at this point I knew I could do it. They helped me in the tub in my dh arms and left the room. I remembered Ina Mays book saying to work with your baby towards delivery. So with the building of my very first contraction since being checked, peeing, and getting in the tub, I said aloud "Brianna, I need you to help mommy now we have to make this fast I'll open my pelvis and you push down and rotate" (I was stuck in transition for 7 1/2 hrs with my ds and this was my worst fear for this labor) As my contraction climaxed, I concentated on wide, open, pelvis, baby come down, dh won't let me fall. I started to feel like I was drowning because the peak wasn't ending and it was to much. I knew in my head that if I paniced all was lost and that the contraction would soon be over and so I doubled my concentration on helping the baby down and having a loose bottom. Then it happened-I paniced and screamed HELP, HELP, HELP as loud and as fast as I could. The apprentice asked "what's happening" and Elaine (mw) said "sounds like we're going to have a baby soon?" and grabbed gloves as she entered the bathroom. (This took place in about 2 sec. I don't know how I heard anything over my screaming "Help".) Elaine looked at me and immediately was over the tub saying "this baby's coming NOW !" I screamed and screamed and pushed and tore and screamed excruciating cries for help and my baby was born. A beautiful baby girl with wide eyes and an amused and curious face. ..... Nobody told me labor could be so beautiful, but it was. Nobody told me how quick delivery and transition could be (less than 6 min from 7 cm to my baby on my chest) and so when I felt excruciating pain and bones reshaping I was terrified and thought something was terribly wrong, but it wasn't. My baby was coming out. I was 7cm on the bed, had a contraction on the way to the potty, 1 while trying to pee and 1 more between the commode and getting back in the tub. My next contraction birthed my baby. It took 12 hrs to go from 3-5cm and 2 1/2 hrs to go from 5cm-baby's birth. I am still amazed. Brianna is beautiful and healthy and weighs 7 lb 15 oz. I recommend every woman read Ina May's Guide To Childbirth. Thanks for all the encouragin messages.:girlbaby: :banana :banana :broc:
