Well, after weeks of trying to turn this stubborn little baby, and doing nothing but resting/eating/hydrating in an effort to get her to grow, the doc and the midwives are done waiting: AFI of 3 today at the ultrasound, and a c-section scheduled for 9am tomorrow.
I will be back to post once I am home from the hospital, but that will be Saturday at the very earliest. Updates to the Birth Announcements sticky will have to wait until the weekend--happy birthing to all the mamas in labor, and lots of love and labor vibes to all the mamas still waiting.

Sending you wonderful birthing vibes, may it be a joyous event for you and your family. :)
You're probably getting prepped for surgery as I write this. Good luck and I'll be thinking of you and your baby!

The section, although FAR from the birth I planned, went really well. Everyone has been taking wonderful care of me, the nurses said they had never seen such a beautiful repair job, and I am feeling GREAT--was up and about as soon as the clock struck 6hrs post-op, haven't taken any pain meds except a couple of doses of ibuprofen, and was eating by early yesterday afternoon . . . off the IV at the same time . . . they removed the catheter this morning and the hep lock too.
Baby is BEAUTIFUL and healthy and bringing us lots of joy; she weighed in at 5.5 lbs at birth, 19 inches, and her name is Ilze Liepa. I will post pics when I can, but it will probably have to wait until after I am discharged because I can barely stand to be away from her long enough to post here! :wink
Nursing is going really well too, although her mouth is so tiny that we have to use nipple shields to help her latch on . . . the lactation consultant thinks we will be able to stop with the shields after the first week. And I have been pumping so that I can give her extra colostrum by syringe (she has been really sleepy, and prefers to use my nipple as a pacifier or nurse while sleeping); the nurses are so impressed by what I can pump, as a first-time mom, and so am I. The birth may not have been what I planned, but it looks like breastfeeding is going to go smoothly! :fingersx:
I'll be back with pics later--hoping to be discharged tomorrow morning. Now, off to cuddle the baby . . .

congrats! we both have tiny ones! noemi can't latch, the nipple shields didn't work for her like we were hoping, so i am just pumping for now. she nurses, but only gets 2-3cc after quite awhile. we are just going to keep waiting until her mouth gets big enough.
so glad you are doing so well! enjoy your beautiful baby!!
Woohoo! Congratulations! That newborn baby smell is so wonderful to cuddle up with, huh? Glad to hear bfing is going well.
