What do you think of this name for a boy?

Sterling Jene Block. I don't know why I keep coming back to the name Sterling. Jene is dh's middle name. I know it's kinda weird.
This whole name thing has totally consumed my mind. It's such a huge stressor for me!

I like Sterling.
And I'm so-so on Jene, but I like family traditions and that would matter more to me. Plus J is a cool middle initial. Sterling J. Block, or on school rosters, Block, Sterling J. I think it's nice.

I'm also a fan of "family" names so I like the sound of it! We don't much refer to middle names around here (unless my son is in trouble and I call AIDAN MARC!) so I tend to focus on first names. I realize it is different in different parts of the country/world.

Sterling is nice, very noble sounding. Jene is different, and it's a family name. Not a name that there is much to make fun of. :wink

I'm sorry you're stressed by it! I don't even bother thinking of names except for idly because absolutely nothing jumps out at me and our dd named herself ("told" dh what her name was) when she was born...we picked the second one to go with the first.

How do you pronounce Jene, like Jean? I see nothing wrong or teasable about Sterling Block. I knew a guy named Sterling once, and liked the name (although the guy was a major dweeb. :lol )

I think that name is truely awesome. I agree with the it sounding quite "noble"... There's also a really great Renaissance Fest in Sterling, NY (if you're into that sort of thing), so that could be another reason why it gives off positive vibes for me :)

I like it! Sterling isn't a very common name but it is a nice one.

Heh, I was thinking the same thing! I don't mind the name at all, but the sound of it puts a lot of weight on the little guy's shoulders, if you know what I mean!

I like it. I think it is very distinguished. I agree that it is a James Bondish name. What a great name for a Lawyer too! :) Sterling J. Block Attorney at Law. Mmm...has a really nice ring to it! :lol

Yes, it is pronounced "Jean". Dh's mn is actually after Gene Rodenberry (sp?) but his mom just *had* to have J for a middle initial because everyone in their immediate family has the same 3 initials.
