"Patience, patience, patience" is my mantra. For some reason, I think I'm more impatient this time around than I was with ds, even though he was my first. I knew first babies tended to be later, and I thought my date should have been pushed back 2 weeks, anyways. So, I didn't really expect him until later.

But, this time around I was charting. Since ds came when I had thought he was due, I kind of thought this baby would be closer to my due date. My mw has said all along that it would probably be longer, though. I should've listened, and told everyone "mid-march." It might be easier to be patient if everyone else wasn't so darn impatient! :lol Actually, it's sweet that this baby is as eagerly anticipated by family and friends as ds was.

It would be nice if I could see SOME signs that things were starting, though. Yesterday, the babe felt SO low, and it actually seemed like I oculd feel the baby pressing on my cervix. But, today the baby seems higher again. I know that's common for a second baby, and I'm actually more comfortable now... but come on, give me something! Maybe a mucus plug?

Fortunately, I'm planning a hb with a CPM, so there's no pressure about hitting the "magical" 42 weeks or anything. I'm not even trying any natural induction methods. I'm just anxious to meet my new little baby. But, I know the baby will come when (s)he is ready, and it will be the perfect time.

"Patience, patience, patience."

I'm right there with you (actually a few days behind but...)! I feel much more anxious for this baby than I did with my first dd. The anticipation is really what's getting to me. Waking up and not knowing if TODAY is going to be THE day. Every little twinge makes me stop and wonder. I had my weekly checkup with the mw yesterday and there was no change in my cervix from last week. Sheesh! She did remind me that things can change quickly but I thought I'd at least be a LITTLE more dilated or something. Oh, well. I really am trying to be patient and savor these last few days with dh and dd as a family of three. But I really am ready to give birth and have my new little girl here.

Hang in there overdue and almost due mommies!

Oh good luck ladies! That excitement and waiting is brutal. I'm starting to feel those twinges and I'm not even due until the 30th. Reading all these birth stories just makes me so excited. I hope we're reading your birth stories in a day or so. Happy baby brewing!

Just a little encouragement....

With this, my second birth, I had NO signs of labor until the morning of the day my water broke. Up 'til then, he was HIGH HIGH HIGH...the biggest signs I had were some BH that clustered together a few nights before. Even when I did get a "sign" that morning (of my water breaking), it was just a slightly largish glob of mucus. I didn't even bother telling dh, because it didn't seem big enough to be my mucus plug.

You never know when the day will be, but you do know it'll be soon! :hug Second births can come out of nowhere... and hopefully, yours will come out of nowhere soon.

Good luck!

Oh dear mama I wish you all the patience in the world. I went to 42 weeks and 1 day before my beautiful son was born, but it was the hardest 15 days of my entire pregnancy. Being overdue is SO hard!
I wish you peace, and a beautiful birth.

I had a mw appointment today, and I went ahead and asked for a gentle, non-invasive exam just to satisfy my curiosity. I'm about 80% effaced and 1 cm dilated. Which, now that I think of it, is about where I was at the last exam before ds was born just shy of 42 weeks! And he was born in about 5 hours.

Anyway, my mucus plug is gone, the baby is engaged and well positioned, and there's plenty of fluid for him/her to bounce around in. She also said my body was "made" for having babies, lol. I knew these hips were good for something! :wink So, my body's ready at any time. My next appointment will be Tuesday. But, dh and I have made plans for the weekend, figuring baby will want to interrupt them!

Here's some labor dust for all you other ladies-in-waiting!:dust :dust :dust
