Even though I frequent MDC and lurk here quite frequently, too, I haven't posted in several months. I've been a member of another forum since I was TTC #1 (didn't even know Mothering existed way back when!!) and I still use those boards, too... but maybe I've gotten too crunchy?? LOL I simply cannot STAND to read the posts on my "mainstream" board these days. Everyone is nearly term and every day brings another "we scheduled my c/s for 37 weeks" or "dr wants to postpone induction till 39 weeks :(" post and I just want to scream my head off!! I understand that there can be real reasons for actually NEEDING a c/s or to be induced, but these are out of convenience; for Mom or even for the the dr!!
So I'm back and I'm here to stay. Pleased to meet you all again. I'll be the one in the back, due towards the end of April, but fully prepared to welcome May still pregnant.

Hi Darci-
Welcome back!
Your girls have ADORABLE names! We're due around the the same time- its nice to have a late April/early May-er around to keep company with while all the early mamas have their babies.
IKWYM about mainstream opinions. I get shocked looks everytime I tell someone I work with about birthing at a birth center instead of a hospital and when I say that I have a m/w rather than an OB they are REALLY shocked (to the point that I think they might think I'm irresponsible! imagine that!) Its nice to have a place like mothering to connect with other mamas who look at birth from a completely different perspective and meet other mams who are so connected to their bodies and families.
Anyway, welcome back! I'll be waiting (hopefully) to welcome May still pregnant, too. I am looking forward to a fully-cooked baby this time!

:wave Nice to have you here! And good for you for staying away from the mainstream boards. Not so good for the blood pressure! :D

Hi Darcy,
Welcome! I'm a late April/early May person too. My due date is April 30th and I've taken to telling people I'm due in early May so I won't have to deal with their comments when I'm still pregnant then! :lol It's nice to have some more late April company.
I too came here to get away from a mainstream board. I agree, it is bad for the blood pressure. I couldn't stand the constant stream of posts about amnios and c/s's and whether 17 lbs is too much to have gained. :lol

Thanks for the warm welcome, ladies! I think the last straw was the chick being induced at 37 weeks for no other reason than she hadn't had her baby yet... despite having a terb pump from 22-34 weeks and being on hospital bedrest for being 4 cm at 32 weeks. I guess all that waiting got the better of them and they induced at 37 weeks... failed induction, of course, and Mom ended up with a c/s after 3 previous vaginal births. I am still trying to wrap my mind around that one!!
Yes, I feel much more calm... and NORMAL... here. I love my MWs, too, and have come to expect and even enjoy the looks I get from family and friends when I tell them my plans for this birth!
And thank you, black orchid, for the compliment on my girls' names. According to u/s, this baby is also a girl (sort of a bummer because of a gender-linked congenital condition, hence the u/s), and her name will be Parker.
Like I said, I'm back to stay!
