I have been having strange dreams about this baby lately. One that it was actually me all picasso-ized???, a few that at the ultrasound they found out it was actually a tumor or cancer, some where I was having multiples, a few that it turned out to be aliens, kittens, rats, snakes, etc...just weird dreams. Are these normal? Am I going insane? :irked: they are starting to scare me.

When I was pg with ds, I dreamed that he was born prematurely and turned out to be our cat. I was glad that he was okay and didn't have to stay in the hospital, but I was disappointed to not get a baby. :lol I also had a dream that I went into labor in a shoe store, had the baby there, then put him in a duffel bag that I put on the floor of the backseat of the car and drove home.

Weird dreams are very, very normal during pregnancy. I'd just try to enjoy telling dh about them in the morning. :)

NOTto long after we found out this one was a boy I had a dream that I gave birth to a girl and told the midwife it was the wrong baby-so she proceeded to tell me to push again and see if the right one woudl come out-as if!
I have had wierd dreams with my other pgs too-giving birth to snakes, not actually being pg,and once even having a litter of bunnies. :lol

I'm not far enough along to have the weird dreams yet (I'm only 4 weeks), but last preg, I dreamt that I gave birth and started nursing, and my baby turned out to be a cat, and he then jumped down and started eating from a plate of kibble. The funny thing is that my cats were raw fed, so I never had kibble in the house! :lol So for me, the weirder part of the dream was not the fact that I gave birth to a cat, but the fact that it was eating kibble instead of raw meat. I am insane...

My DH always gets a kick out of my weird dreams - preggo or not! :D

ETA: Oh, and we were all thinking it was going to be a boy (which it was), but in my dream, I gave birth to a GIRL cat.

I have very wierd pregnancy dreams too. The other night, I dreamed the baby was born and he was not a newborn. He was probably about 4 months old. In my dream, I was very upset because he is our 4th (and probably last) baby and I wanted him to be a newborn. His sleeper was really tight, he could hold his head up and he laughed and smiled. I was crying in the dream because I missed him being a newborn. DH was saying, "He's a man!"

With my first, I was a preschool teacher and had a very challenging child in my class. I dreamed I gave birth to this boy, who was then 5 years old. I kept crying and telling the nurses, "This is not my child. I know his mother!" They swaddled him in a big blanket and handed him to me anyway. Strange dreams are very normal during pregnancy.

I seriously freaked my husband out by the nature of last night's dream. It was the first one in a while I remembered long enough to recount, but I do know that almost every night I have a crazy, vivid dream! Not always directly to do with the baby, either, but my first pregnancy dream involved being able to see the baby through my stomach skin that was stretched so taut it was translucent!

Yep strange dreams are perfectly "normal" during pregnancy.

I've had some doozies over the different pregnancies. The worse were with DS#1 (2nd pregnancy) I had a lot of nightmares... just plain weird and scary never about the baby or the delivery just everything else kind of stuff like kidnapping terrorist or being chased by bank robbers (why would they be chasing me???). :tsk

My dreams during pregnancy get weirdER, but not necessary about the baby. I think, last time, I may have dreamed about the future child once. This time I haven't yet - but I think it's completely normal and even good to have weird dreams because the hormones effect ALL parts of us! :)

We had difficulty conceiving our first baby and managed to do it only through IVF. So when I finally got pg I was awfully worried that I’d miscarry. I was feeling double responsibility: for the baby like every other pg woman and on the top of it for the $10,000 that we had to pay to get pg. I had a lot of cramping in my early pg too, so it didn’t help either. Few times I was miscarrying in my dreams; the worst dream was when it happened in the bathtub (I was just few weeks pg) and I saw this alive mass…it looked just like a moving mass, didn’t have baby’s shape yet that was moving and moving. I remember I was wishing it was dead as I just couldn’t see how it was suffering. I kept thinking again and again "that's it, there will be no baby in June". I remember I was crying so hard in my dream that I couldn’t stop for a minute or so even after I woke up and realized that it was just a nightmare. It was awful:( .

I do feel better with this pg which happened naturally and was a total surprise for us. But I’m just 8.5 weeks, so I still have plenty of time for weird dreams:o .

I hate the weird & bad dreams it makes me sleep so crappy. I dream about family members dying, giving birth to a puppy, ect. I dream about stuff like I am awake and I am hurting and can't wake up. I will be so happy once this over. LOL.

I just had a crazy one last night. I gave birth to a litter of bluish-white frogs, seven of them, at 34 weeks. And my placenta never came out and my milk wouldn't come in, and I couldn't get a hold of my midwives because two other women they care for were in labor. Weird enough?

My weirdest dream so far this pregnancy was last night's dream that I was carrying quadruplets. But in a previous pregnancy, I remember dreaming I gave birth to a kitten. I read somewhere that's supposed to mean you're dreaming of having a girl, but I had a boy that pregnancy anyway, so if so, it was wrong!

Both my husband and I have been having really crazy dreams during this pregnancy.

I keep dreaming that my cat (that died 2 years ago) is being reincarnated into this baby. I guess it's good that I really liked that cat.

With my dd (now 10 months old) I dreamed that we had quadruplets- 3 boys,1 girl. My MIL was at the hospital yelling at dh for not telling her that 4 were on the way. How could we tell what we did not know?!? Dh told her to leave so we could come up with names for the babies! This pregnancy has just been nightmares and that I am hurting and cannot get away from the pain. I have wakened crying and even woke dh up with sceaming. That is all that happens when I sleep. I would like to sleep with NO dreams at all. :irked:

Gosh, I had some weird dreams too with my first pregnancy. I had tons of them and can't remember them all but I remember one where the baby was all furry, like an animal! One where he was grotesquely distorted and like HUGE and wouldn't nurse (that one was scary!!). I also dreamed lots of more pleasant dreams like I birthed the baby painlessly by myself at home, or DH birthed him, or dreams about what he was like in the future.

With this pregnancy I haven't had any scary dreams about the baby but I have had lots of totally bizarre dreams not having anything to do with babies! I've dreamed about birthing this baby but those dreams were all in my first trimester. Lately I haven't had any about her and I'm hoping I do soon.

WOW - I wonder what the deal is with cat dreams. I had a dream that my baby was sticking his head out through my belly and it was so thin I could see his eyes! Then, he climbed out through a little zipper hole on my jacket, and turned out to be a (full sized) cat. I was also disappointed, because "we already have two cats, I wanted a baby this time!" :lol
