I know how uncomfy you are feeling! I have gone past my "due date" with all three of mine, so big hugs there. Also, if I may speak from my experience, first time babies come on average at 41 weeks. If your baby and body isn't ready to come out, you can try all the natural tricks in the world and they won't work. It's a good thing your doc isn't wanting to induce you yet. He/she is waiting on your body to do it in its own time. That said, the only thing I have ever used to bring on labor is castor oil. I took it at the direction of my MW at 10 days past my due date. It worked, DS came five hours later. It CAN dehydrate you because of the diarrhea that most definately comes with it so keep in mind to stay hydrated. As I said, it won't work if your body isn't ready. Good luck to you!

Normal gestation is between 38 and 42 weeks. 40 weeks isn't a magic number. I know it's hard, but try to be patient, your body will go into labor on its own.

I agree with the other posters. I know these last days/weeks are HARD, but trust that your body and your baby know when it's time to begin labor. You will not be pregnant forever. I think it's very common for women to go past their due date.

Hang in there. Oh, also, they're a lot easier to take care of when their in you! :p
